Car description

For your consideration is truly rare and sought after classic. One of European most successful models and a true icon that has been recognized and respected around the world.Just as in 2015, 985 WV Golf was the winner ofMotor TrendCar of the Year. There are very few left or available for sale. More than likely, one as complete in such condition without any aftermarket parts and/or alternations and modifications.

I am selling the car due to my move across the nation for a job.

Some details: 1985 VW Golf Custom, .8L 8-Valve engine. 5 speed manual transmission. Approximately 168,000. Manufactured in Volkswagen Westmoreland Assembly, 5 miles south of Pittsburgh in Westmoreland County, ennsylvania. This is one of the early productions. Manufactured: November 1984. Based on history check and my research the car had: 0 reported accidents, reported owners and all of its life spent in Olympia, ashington.

The car is solid with no rust.

Featured car has original off while color exterior paint and most rare brown interior with tweeted seats that are in best condition you will find.Dash, nstruments, oor cards, oof liner, arpet are all original. All the locks function including gas cap.Every light lens (head, umper turn signals, ide markers, ail) on this car are original HELLA (made in Germany). Also, ncluded: original Owner's Manual and Bentley repair/maintenance manual. Original spare, ools pouch, ack, tc. Original stickers under the hood.

This Golf is absolute pleasure to drive. It is quick, ounds great, eliable and responsive. Engine and transmission are strong.

I owned this lovely car for about 4 years.I absolutely enjoy driving it. The car has never left me stranded and I feel very safe and confident driving it. I would dare to drive it across the nation.Of course, y confidence is supported by the list of repairs I have done.I used mostly OEM parts I purchased from AutohausAZ, lassifieds and junk yards.

Car sits on beautiful, are vintage set of BBS Mahle (made in Germany) with original caps.13 inch (standard size for 1985 Golf). Set of 4 tires have under 1,000 miles on them.

Included with the car, asically impossible to find THULE 305 roof rack with locks and key. As a bonus, am also including all the spare parts I have collected over the years: Alternator, et of door handles with keys, indshield washer reservoir, ipers, ain gutters, eals, askets, ulbs, rim, way bar, eft/right steering tie rods, iming belt, alve cover gasket, etc. (hundreds of dollars worth).

99% of this car functions properly. Some of the things that do not function, ut are easily fixable.High beam light (incorrect connection when grill was upgraded). Fuel gage (disconnected floater in the gas tank). Odometer (most of the time works; however, ccasionally gets stuck).Stereo (Original, urns on but there are no speakers or wiring in the car, o I am not sure. I never bothered to look into it, enjoy the sound of engine and exhaust. Heat works great - AC is cool, ut not cold. This is all I encountered and can think of.

Parts that are not original to the car:Front grill was upgraded to European spec quad lights.Front bumper and Left side fender were replaced with identical white fender from a different Golf.
