Car description

1958 Volkswagen beetle in un-restored condition. Original Arizona car. 36HP engine and split case transmission. Previous owner had sprayed top and some area's withrustoleum to prevent any more surface rust. Original paint still showing over most of car. Color is Agave Green L240 paint code. Early 58' production- vin showslate August1957. All wheels are date coded 09/57. This car is solid as a rock- everywhere including under battery. This is NOT your usual east-coast car. All inner wheel wells and spare tire well are SOLID. Interior is original and needs to be redone. All door panels are original. Rear seat and passenger seat would probably clean up. The car runs and drives well. Brakes work well. The choke cable is seized so it takes a few pumps to get started. Windshield has 2 stars in it- passenger side the larger at about 3/4". All glass is original- passenger wing latch is broken. I have a replacement that will come with car. Directional lightsand horn work. All lights including brake lights work. Wipers do not work. Front and rear aprons have absolutely no damage and are original. I believe all the fenders are original to car. The rear bumper support on drivers side was pulled by the tow truck that picked the car up after being dropped off by transport company. The bolt was pulled out of the inner mounting. Easy fix since there is no rust involved. Car was delivered "radio delete" and still retains it's block off plate. Original running boards have dried out and cracked pretty much. The board itself is solid and could be recovered. The transmission shifts fine-no popping out of gear in reverse or forward gears. The 36hp engine leaks a little oil as so many of these do. The car has been stored inside since I purchased it and only driven a few summer days a year. Mileage reads 31,401 but I assume it's been over once. If you are looking for a solid platform to start with or just love original "patina" cars, his is a very nice one. Just to figure saving the $1100.00 shipping from Arizona to here is something. Please ask any questions before bidding and I will be happy to answer all. If there are any particular views of the car that are in question-I will be happy to send more photos also. I have a clear Arizona title that the previous owner obtained after he registered it. I was told that this person bought it from the original owner. I have owned the car for a little over 11 years.Car will be sold with bill of sale and the Arizona title. The title is still blank on the back side. Thank you for your interest.
