Car description

1971 Volkswagen Type 3 Squareback.

This is a bare shell with pan. It has the clean Nevadatitle, ash VIN and Tunnel VIN

This car has been heavily modified, nd is a major project. I will do my best to describe the condition, hat modifications have been done, nd what should be re-done, nd what it needs.

As said before it is a stripped down, are shell. It is literally the body with doors, ood and hatch (all modified), nd the clean, ust free pan. There is no motor, rans, ear suspension, ront suspension, lass, nterior, iring, ights, teering, heels, tc.

Details:

-Clean, ust free pan.

-Body appears rust free, here has been a lot of modifications, o there is body filler everywhere. There is surface rust here and there.

-Underside of pan has been undercoated, r possibly spray-on bedliner in black. It's very nice. Also the inside of the trunk area, heelwells and engine compartment have been coated.

-Manual pedal assembly with roller gas pedal.

-Roof has been cut for a Type 2 (Bus) cloth sunroof (ragtop). The opening has been reinforced with square tubing and supports, ee pictures.

-Rear fenders have been welded to the body. The welds are ground down and, ut need finish work. All trim holes have been welded shut. Lower edges have minor damage from being moved around and will need some attention there. Also, ome cracking older bondo repairs here and there will need to be addressed.

-Front fenders have been welded to the front apron and to the cowl panel. Some finish work is needed.

-Front fenders have been modified to use a turn signal from a later model VW on the side of the fender. One turn signal is installed.

-Front fenders are earlier models with a different turn signal than a 71 would have.

- Front end/apron has been smoothed as well, ut has some dents and damage that will need to be worked on.

-Doors have been shaved.Door handle openings have been cut out and welded shut.

-Driver's side door has an electronic door popper attached.

-Passenger door hashad Bondo added to thelower half, ut has not been sanded.

-Hood is unmodified. Hood hinges, prings and latch are stillattached.

-Rear hatch has been shaved of the handle and license plate housing. Not attached to the car, ne hinge has been removed, ut it is in the car.

-Rear apron is rough. It has clearly been partially cut out either for replacement or?Covered in surface rust.

-Overall, 0% of the bodywork has been rough-sanded, ut needs all the finish work.

-Has what appears to be a really cheap, lack spray paint job on it (probably to prevent rust). But it does cover a lot of the damage, o it is worse than what it appears in the pictures.

-Dash has been smoothed. No more glove box or ash tray. Needs finish work.

-The passenger side inner door structure has been cut away to access the welds at the door handle area, he piece that was cut out is in the car as well as a couple other pieces of metal that have been removed.

-Driver's side door only has one bolt holding it in.

-VIN on doorjamb has been sanded off (possibly from bodywork/damage)

-VIN on tunnel is intact, nd matches VIN on Title.

-Included is the original dash pad which has the VIN Plate still attached to it.

-Clean Nevada Title.

This is a major project, ut it was someone's dream car, nd they put in a lot of time and work to get it customized to the point it's at now. I don't know the full history on the car, ust what I was told by the previous owner.

This car needs everything, ut the body and pan are rust free, nd it has a title, o it would be a good car to swap parts to if you have a wrecked or rusted out Squareback.

Please check with your local DMV on what you need to transfer the title to you. Also, he VIN is listed above so you can check on it to verify it's status.

Please ask any questions you may have, have tried to list everything I know, ut there's a lot I don't know, ecause the guy I got it from didn't know either.

If you need to see pictures of any part of the car, et me know and I will get that to you.

Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. If needed, have a guy who can deliver for $1.75 per mile from zip code 95693plus $100 for every state line he has to cross, o cover travel expenses. So please, o your math before purchasing so you know how much shipping will be. Or you can find another way of shipping.

Thanks for looking and happy bidding.
