Car description

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this extremely attractive TR-6 in fantastic colors. This car was recently purchased from the East Coast but was originally sold new in San Francisco, California. The previous owner was in process of performing a few cosmetic upgrades. The car runs and drives well. It's a very well-preserved example with a high quality repaint in it's original color. The body on this car is extremely good with factory correct panel gapping and fit. all of the body panels open and close beautifully. There's no evidence of rust or accidents on it's completely original body and the car was believed to have lived indoors for most of it's life. Paintwork appears to be a fairly recent quality single repaint in it's original Mallard Blue. It's highly glossy and smooth with excellent preparation on a superb, straight body. There is a slight bump on the nose of the hood that has been repaired, but besides that the bodywork and paint appear close to excellent overall. Brightwork is excellent, still retaining it's original bumper set with great factory chrome. The door handles, taillight housings, original brushed aluminum beauty rims all still look great. Recently a new windshield gasket was fitted. There's a hairline crack on the upper passenger side of the windshield. The car's interior is very nice and highly original including near mint factory seat covers, door and quarter panels, carpet set, top boot cover. The seats could use an updated foam set by now. They padding is loosening up a bit and leaving some "crumbs" on the floor, but could be easily restuffed. The car's dashboard looks superb with an excellent set of crash pads, top pad, nice armbars, visors, center console, original British Leyland radio, good steering wheel and a new wood dashboard fitted. The original tan top boot is a nice touch. The newer black top is nice, but is has a few flaws.Mechanically, the car is very good and feels quite nice out on the road. The engine revs and pulls very well with excellent oil pressure, no smoke or noises. Clutch and gearbox feel good with the exception of a weak third gear syncro. The exhaust system is fouling the chassis somewhere, which is an easy fix. The engine could use a general tune-up but it feels very healthy overall. PLEASE SEE DRIVING VIDEO. The car is fitted with a nice smooth set of OEM Michelin Redline tires that roll nicely and comfortable along the road. Brakes and suspension feels fine and normal for the age of the car. The engine bay is whistle clean but could benefit from a simple, easy detail. It presents well with all original paint. The car's underside is rustfree and looks completely normal for the car's age/mileageThe trunk compartment looks very original and untouched with all original paint and materials. It includes the original spare tire, jack, handle, and pouch.Overall, a very sharp and well-preserved TR-6 with only a few easy needs. This color scheme is arguably one of the best offered by the factory, and one would be hard pressed to find another Mallard Blue/tan example similar to this one.
