Car description

Stunning 1980 Triumph TR8 with 30,100 actual miles. Only 2487 of these cares were made between 1980-81. I am the 5th owner. The care was delivered out of Bishop Motors in Barberton, Ohio on August 27, 1982. The original vehicle sticker shows that the color is Poseidon Metallic Green with a tan plaid interior. The car was delivered with factory air conditioning at a total vehicle price of $12,775.00. The car was treated by the dealer with the preservative coating, Zeibart, to prevent rust and corrosion. The first owner kept the car until July 2003 when it was sold with 17,701 miles. Included with the sales is the original vehicle sticker, owners manual, owners maintenance manual, radio manual, original service booklet, owner maintained mileage log, tonneau and boot covers in excellent condition, original jack, tools and 13" spare tire on original wheel. Also included are the two Roger Williams books on improving and restoring the TR8.
There is little documentation available from the 2nd owner. The 3rd owner sold the vehicle through eBay in June 2009 stating that he had never registered the vehicle and at the time the mileage was 22,438. The description further states that the 2nd owner changed the wheels to a "Panasport" knockoff, added a Crane ignition system, and switched the factory installed SU carburetors to a Holly 4 barrel with an Edelbrock performance manifold. The original carburetors, manifold, and air boxes come with the purchase.
The last owner owned the car until April 2012 and did nothing except normal maintenance. The car had 26,600 when sold to me. Since my purchase I have stripped and repainted the car maintaining the same color, sourced and installed new-original-seat covers, installed a new top, and a Moto Lita Wood Steering Wheel. Mechanically I have installed a new A/C compressor converting over to R134a refrigerant. The electrical system has been upgraded to 95 Amps with the installation of a GM Saturn alternator. A new, custom, exhaust system has been installed and the wheels were changed to 15" RTO classics with new tires. Finally the front and rear suspension were returned to original specifications with new shocks. springs, tie rod ends and bushings.
