Car description

Rare and extremely difficult to find in North America. There are many TRs, pitfires and the like out there but this 1963 Triumph Herald 1200 convertible is extremely rare. Very good body, hassis and motor. The body is rust free as it has been mostly garage kept in the US for decades before I brought it to Canada last year- even the floorboards are rust free before restoration. It has clean lines and the frame is strong and sturdy. Car has been anti-rusted to last another 50 years It was inspected and passed a rigorous Inspection early this yearand is now registered and on the road. Full Inspection Report, ar Fax, nd Registration Title available with photos of all the restoration workthat was done.Everything on the car works and a tachomete, kill switch and voltmeter has been added. Due to its excellent condition, t has earned Collector plates. Was awarded SCCA National Champion between 1965-1973. Engine no and chassis nos match Vin is GA90700LCV Engine No : GA95516HE. Spent over $11,000 on recent repairs and upgrades with 500 hours doing up the car with all parts imported from England. Bills to show. The car is stock except for the following : entire brake system has been replaced with discs in front and drums at rear. Fuel pump is now electronic. Steering rack, lutch and brake master cylinders replaced with new originals. Engine flushed and all fluids replaced. Horns replaced and spot lights and a brand new 13" wooden steering wheel is added (costing $350 but notshown in the pictures). Everything on the car works except the glove compartment cannot be locked- which should be an easy fix. It comes with a box full ofgood used front brakes, ads, alipers, ear brakes, rums, arberator, rake and clutch master cylinders, ables etc etc) It has 62,399 miles on it believed to be genuine but the speedometer was replaced by me at 64000 miles with a brand new one as the fuel meter within the old speedometerstopped working. The wheels have all been sandblasted and painted white. Tires are almost 100% . All rubber seals and most bushingshave beenreplaced including the steering rack. Comes with owners handbook and Jack. Brand new carpets, eats, onvertible top and several engine and other mechanical parts. Has good compression on all cylinders. Runs and drives well and the exhaust sound is very pleasant to hear.Sure to turn heads and I have had many people stop me and ask about the car. This car was picked by the Vancouver Sun Newspapers during Father's Day car show in July 2015 among over 1600 classic cars to be featured in a full page article in theVancouver Sun newspapers on 24 July 2015 and in the magazine throughout Canada -" driving.ca". New seat belts have been installed at both front and rear.as an added safety feature. (these early cars did not come with belts).Check out Hagerty's valuation of a car like this - it ranges from US$9000( condition 3, 14000( condition 2) and is up to US$22000 (condition 1). This car can be considereda 2under Hagerty's scale There is a Herald currently selling in England ( and it is not even a convertible, nd hence of lesser value) asking for £16,000. The same type of car was once owned by John Lennon of the Beatles. This Herald was originally white with a black top ( similar to John Lennon's) but has been painted original cherry red( standard Triumph colour) some 20 years ago and given a fresh coat of the same colourearly thisyear- and a tan hood and seats to match. I searched all over for this car as it was my first car as a youth some 45 years ago. Now health issues force me to sell it off reluctantly.Shipping and handling is buyer's responsibility. Price in US Dollars. Car can be imported to US with no problem as it does notneed to meet any emission standards and is a former US registered car.

You can see the car running in a video clip from YouTube ("1963 Triumph Herald") - https://youtu.be/c-2cXsqBJ5Q

My story of the car has also been published in The Vancouver Sun Newspapers, ated July 24, 015, nd in the national magazine, Driving", eptember 1, 015. Read the article here at driving.ca - http://driving.ca/triumph/auto-news/news/british-cars-1963-triumph-herald
