A Rare Find—a Frame-off Restored TR 250 with a Surrey Top

The Triumph TR 250 was a limited production car that has become a rarity among classic cars. Finding a nice example is hard to do (of those built it is estimated that fewer than 600 remain) but finding a totally restored [frame-off] TR 250 with a Surrey Top is a rare find indeed.

Great Looking

· Paint and Chrome

Resprayed in its original Signal Red, his car's finish looks like new as one would expect for a car with a frame-off restoration.

The chrome is extremely nice as is the stainless trim.

· Surrey Top

This TR 250 has the optional Surrey Top, ith the removable vinyl insert, hat likewise looks new. The Surrey Top is a much sought-after accessory, roviding additional occupant protection should it be needed. The "targa-style" top gives the car a stylistic flare that is unmatched by the other TRs.

· Interior

The Black interior upholstery, omplete with piping, as all redone and looks like new. The door panels are excellent as is the carpeting. The dash has the upgraded wood veneer finish and all of the instruments are in excellent cosmetic and operational condition. There is a Tourist Trophy wood-rimmed steering wheel to complete the interior finishes.

· Engine

The TR 250 has the 2.5 liter 6 cylinder engine as opposed to the four cylinder engine that powered the TR 4. The engine was rebuilt during the car's restoration.

· Transmission

The four-speed fully synchromesh transmission operates correctly and makes this car a pleasure to drive.

· Chassis

The underside of this TR 250 is free of any visible rust or corrosion.

· Safety and Comfort features

The car has front disc brakes, ndependent rear suspension and rack and pinion steering, ll of which contribute to the feeling of stability and to the car's safety. Three point seat belts provide for additional passenger safety.

All of the safety and accessory features work—lights, urn signals, ipers, the horn will need a bit of attention), tc. All of the instruments are nicely set off with a wood dash and is complemented by the Tourist Trophy wood-rimmed steering wheel. The car is equipped with 185R15 Redline tires mounted on 4 Dayton stainless steel wire knock-off wheels. (The original painted wire wheels and the convertible top/frame will also convey with the car.)

There is the optional luggage rack mounted on the trunk and a badge bar mounted on the front.
