You don't find FJ40s too often, and when you do, they are usually outdated, beat up, or just way too nice to even want to drive.
This one was restored by FJ40 specialist at Vintage Off-road (https://www.vintageoffroad.com), and additional work performed by several off-road shops in North Michigan.
Here are some of the details.1. Former AZ owner, North American truck, sat in a garage prior to restoration.2. This FJ40 retains its original floors, rockers, and sheet metal.3. Excellent paint quality over a solid and rust-free body, a few surface spots, see photos.4. Custom half doors (not metal), match painted when the truck was painted.5. Classic “2F” inline 6 engine, 4.2-liter engine with 135 horsepower and 210 lb-ft torque, a four-speed transmission, and a 4x4 drive train6. Heater blows hot, AC is via foot opened vents.7. Drum brakes8.Mileage is low (less than 5k) on a newly rebuilt engine, the odometer is not accurate.9. The frame is fully intact, no rust, stored in climate-controlled garages in Chicago.10. Custom 60/40 front bench, with seat belts to accommodate 3 upfront and custom bench seat in back with seat belts for 2 in back. I had this build so I could put two adults and child in front, and two passengers in the back. Rear door opens with a small space for storage.11. Roll cage12. Bikini top, original hardtop, and doors are NOT available.13. Custom Bluetooth connected stereo, new amps, speakers in the door panels, and sub-woofer installed under the driver’s seat.14.
