Please read the description fully and ensure that you can meet the obligations of this auction before bidding.

As is stated above, this is a NO RESERVE auction for my 1987 Toyota 4X4 Pick-up Truck. It runs and drives great! I've put a lot of money into it and am very sad to sell, but with a baby on the way I needed a vehicle with a back seat. I just picked up a brand new 4-door Tacoma, and I can't justify having 2 trucks. This 1987 truck has only 107k miles on the odometer. If you know anything about these trucks, you know how rare it is to find one with under 200k on the clock. I bought this truck about 2 years ago from an elderly man that is a tree farmer in PA. He was the long-term 2nd owner. He used the truck to putt around his tree farm and make trips to town until 2015, when his family demanded that he get a newer vehicle. He bought an early 2000s Tacoma nearly identical to this truck, and the 1987 went into a shed on the farm. After a year, the farmer couldn't bear to see the truck deteriorate in the shed, and put it on Craigslist, which is when I bought it. He was very attached to the truck, and for the first 6 months he would call me about every 8 weeks to find out how the truck was doing. I called and talked to him prior to this listing to let him know that I had to put the truck up for sale. He would be delighted if the next owner would call him from time to time to let him know how the truck is getting on. That's up to the next owner, but I can pass on the phone number.

The truck itself is great. It has the legendary 22R engine that runs well and is extremely reliable. In the past 2 years I have split my daily driving between this truck and a Miata. I run my own business and have to be able to get to work no matter what. This truck has never let me down. It's gotten me to work in ice, snow, and torrential rains. I have driven it to central PA, Washington DC, and out to western Maryland with no trouble. It does not smoke, have blow-by, or overheat. I have regular oil and filter changes done. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts normally through the gears. I just had the clutch and flywheel replaced this Spring, and the rear main seal was replaced at the same time. The 4WD has worked great when I've had to use it. This truck has the hubs that need to be manually locked. Last fall I had the clutch master and slave cylinders replaced, as well as the brake booster and master cylinder. Both systems were bled at the time. The previous owner had replaced the front calipers prior to sale. The brakes are strong, but when you first step on the pedal it will drop about ¼ inch before the brakes engage. From reading Toyota forums, I believe it is either something that needs to be greased / adjusted in the rear drum brakes, or it's the rear brake proportioning valve. I haven't fixed it yet because it doesn't affect the drivability. A new battery was installed at the beginning of this summer. Last fall I had new Firestone Winterforce Mud and Snow tires installed that still have plenty of tread and will handle any type of terrain. Two years ago I installed a new gas tank, and replaced all the shocks with Bilstein HD units, which provide an excellent ride. I also had the gear oil in the transmission, transfer case, and differentials replaced. I installed a sport bar in the bed that has 4 tabs for spotlights. The KC Daylighter spotlights / wiring / etc. are not part of this auction, but can be purchased separately for $200. This truck is also equipped with a tow hitch and a 4-prong connector for trailer lights. I have not towed anything, so I do not know if the trailer plug works. This truck is pretty basic on the inside. It has a good working heater, but there was no A/C optioned, and it didn't even come with a cigarette lighter! The gas gauge does not work because the float sensor inside the gas tank is broken.

This truck is wonderful, but it is over 30 years old and some things need attention. The cab and cab mounts are OK, but the bed is in rough shape with a few rust holes. The frame is solid, but most of the underbody rust protection has cracked and flaked off at this point. Surface rust is everywhere on the undercarriage, and it will need to be treated and/or painted to stop it from progressing further. There are also small dents, paint chips, etc. around the body. My next plan for this truck was going to be to remove the bed and replace it with either one of the fiberglass reproductions that is available, or just build a flat bed, as many people do. While the bed was off, I would have painted the frame and replaced the float sensor in the gas tank. That will be up to the new owner to do those things now. The rear leaf springs also sag slightly. While the bed is off it would be a good time to get them fixed. Any big rig repair shop should be able to repair those springs. Alternately, you could install a lift kit that comes with new springs.

This has been a great truck, and if I could justify keeping it I would without hesitation, but I have other projects and I don't need 2 trucks. I'm hoping that the next owner will care for this truck, and complete the maintenance plan I started. Please read the description thoroughly, examine all of the pictures and then come see / drive the truck in person before you decide to bid. I welcome bidders to come check out this truck, just please give me at least 24 hours notice that you want to come so that I can adjust my busy schedule. I run my own business, and so free time is scarce for me, but I will make every effort to meet with serious bidders so that they can view / test drive the truck. Also, please be realistic with your expectations. This truck is over 30 years old and has over 100k miles. It was a farm truck. It's in better shape than the majority of these old Toyotas, but it is still old. If you want something perfect then go get a new Tacoma like I just did. This truck has a clear, Maryland title, which I will sign over to the new owner, along with a bill of sale, once the cash is in my hand - and yes, I WILL ONLY ACCEPT CASH. Paypal is only used for the deposit. If you are a long distance buyer, you need to show up in person or send someone to pay the cash and collect the title in person. I will be removing my tags at the time of the sale. Arranging transport or temp tags is the responsibility of the buyer. This truck will drive anywhere, so don't be afraid of flying in and driving it home if you have a temp tag or transport tag.

I am open to offers made through ebay in accordance with ebay rules, and reserve the right to stop the auction if an offer is accepted, however, no offers made on the final day or after the auction has been won will be accepted. The truck must be picked up and paid for within 7 days of the end of the auction. A $200 deposit must be made through Paypal by the winner immediately after the auction ends.

Payment is to be made in CASH. Paypal, Cashier's Checks, and Bank Transfers are not cash, cash is physical, paper money. This typically means that the buyer needs to come in person or send someone with the cash. Paypal is only used for the deposit.

A $200 Paypal deposit is due directly at the end of the auction. The remainder is to be paid in cash at the time of pick-up. This deposit is non-refundable.

Bidders with zero or negative feedback must contact me prior to bidding - I will delete your bids otherwise. Do not send me angry emails when you bid without contacting me, and then find that I have deleted your bids and blocked you from further bidding on the auction.
