Car description

This 1979 Subaru 1600 DL manual wagon is a real head turner. It's also really fun to drive. I am the 3rd owner of this car. I have only driven it 896 miles and it has just under 70k miles total. I never let this car see any rain or snow as it is garage kept. The car had rust underneath, but I had it cut out and replaced with new metal. Bottom is completely sprayed with Rust Mort undercoating to prevent rust. I have receipts for the work.
The car is all original except for a period appropriate NOS (new old stock) arm rest (comfy!), and a brand new Weber Carb. The carb really gives the car extra acceleration in first gear to keep up with modern cars. Old carb and air filter will be included. The radiator is three years old and the thermostat was just replaced.
I have put a lot of time and money into maintaining this car. I took out the entire interior and laid soundproofing down to reduce road noise. It really made a difference. I got all of the equipment working (lights, high beams, signals, rear and front wipers) by sourcing NOS (new old stock) parts on eBay and other message boards. I also paid to have the dashboard cracks repaired. One picture of interior was taken before the repairs so disregard those cracks. Two small driver seat tears repaired. The tears have reopened but are repairable.
The interior is is excellent shape. The carpets are super clean. I don't think anyone has every sat in the backseat. The AM radio works but has been unplugged by previous owner who put a newer radio in glove box. They also ran a wire under the back seat for a rear speaker.
I had the Weber Carb tuned two weeks ago and the car is in great shape.
There are some minor quirks that are common with this car: the rubber around the stick shift is loose and needs to be glued. The 4 wheel drive stick rattles and is held with bungee to prevent rattling.
The car was resprayed at some point by a previous owner in its original color. It could benefit from the minor bubbling and rust spots being repaired and a new respray. The original color code is included in the car. The color is still awesome.
I will throw in the famous "How to Keep Your Subaru Alive" book and a vintage Subaru keychain.
Car comes with a clean NJ title and all receipts for work done.
