Car description

1984 Subaru GL Turbo WagonI'm the second owner of this great example of a classic 1984 Subaru, t was purchased from the original owner in 1999 with 78k miles and I've owned it since. This car has been babied and garage kept for the 15+ years I've had it, t's not 100% perfect but is a great car and has served me very well, riginally bought in The Dalles, regon it made it's way from the Portland area to here in Colorado in 2008 with no issues along the away, ince here it has been driven at most 1,000 miles. The car runs great and is about 80% factory, ith some tasteful upgrades/modifications I'll detail below. Never beaten on, ever raced (hahaha!), eligious oil changes at 3k miles, nly drinks premium gas. I won't go into detail about how rare these cars are becoming, f you're here there's a good chance you know what place this car holds in the old school Subaru community. The detail-y stuff:
  • 170,600 miles
  • 3 speed automatic transmission (see details below) with push button 4WD
The awesome stuff:
  • Very, ery little rust (on the rocker/door panels on driver and passenger side, ut it is VERY minimal)
  • Super clean interior, ncracked dash, ear-perfect seats, inted windows, ll-weather floor mats,
  • Clean exterior with original paint
  • Rear disc conversion with brand new Brembo rotors, remium brake pads, nd fluid change/flush
  • New Optima Red Top battery with less than 200 miles
  • New Bosch (not remanufactured) starter with less than 200 miles
  • Fresh oil and filter change, oolant flush and change, ucas front diff/gear oil change, ranmission fluid flush and change with less than 100 miles
  • K&N air filter with drilled air box
  • NGK spark plug wires with NGK plugs
  • New distributor cap and rotor
  • New fuel filter
  • New coolant temperature sensor
  • No oil leaks to speak of, ust a tiny bit of seepage/blow-by above the turbo
  • Push button 4WD works amazing, o stopping to engage anything, ust hit the button and keep on goin'!
  • Engine runs strong, dles perfectly, ulls well all through the powerband
  • Upgraded (but dated at this point) CD player with upgrade door speakers
  • Urethane mud flaps (front, EM rear)
The not-so awesome stuff:
  • Minor front-end accident in 2004, ad to pull AC condensor so the AC doesn't work but everything else is there
  • Missing trim piece on rear driver's side, he trim will come with the car, t's the clips that broke and I can't find the replacements
  • Mis-matched front driver's steel wheel, hough I'm including a primered wagon wheel that just needs paint or powdercoat
  • Front differential is beginning to fail but the car is 100% drivable, here is at times an audible clicking that sounds like a CV joint but it's actually the front diff (FINALLY) beginning to fail, can source a replacement 3AT transmission if you'd like, therwise this is a perfect opportunity for the much loved 5 speed MT dual-range swap
  • Bleach stain in the back trunk area, t's hiding under a cargo mat, ut it's there, therwise the carpet is 100%
  • The factory turbo-intake hose cracked so I had to have one made from aluminum tubing and brass barb fittings, t functions 100% but isn't factory
  • The factory PCV valve hose cracked so I also replaced that with high grade tubing, nbsp;you'll be able to see it in the pictures, t functions 100% but isn't factory
  • The car still has Washington plates and hasn't been registered since the tags expired 5/2011
  • Cruise control doesn't work, 've never felt the need to figure out why it doesn't but since I've owned it it's not been functional
The extra stuff:
  • A huge box of goodies is included, tuff like: an original Subaru factory service manual and a copy of How to Keep Your Subaru Alive (no junk Chilton manuals here!), ots of center caps for the wheels, Greddy turbo timer that I never hooked up, ots of miscellaneous bolts, crews, lips, lamps, hermostat, adiator hoses, tc.
