This 1963 Studebaker Avanti R2 features an iconic design that is supplemented by an extra special motor under the hood. The '63 Avanti was a fiberglass body on a modified Lark Daytona chassis and it was the first new body style for Studebaker since 1953. What makes this particular Avanti extra special is the 289 Cubic Inch Avanti R2 Supercharged V8 with a single 4 barrel carburetor that pushed out 289 horsepower, which was 49 HP more than the R1 Avanti and 39 HP more than Chevy's standard Corvette. The 4 Barrel Carb has also recently undergone a complete rebuild.
