The CSX 1000 series was the first AC/Shelby Cobra collaboration since the 1960s and the bodies were hand built from the original bucks in the UK at the now bankrupt AC factory. Carroll Shelby was quoted saying, we want to recreate products with true heritage and quality as we did in the 1960’s and use this to expand and propel us into future new products.

Carroll Shelby signed a 3 year contract with AC in 2004 to build 50 cars a year for a total of 150 cars, these cars were to be exact replicas of the 60’s cars, except for gauges and the things needed to be federally compliant in the USA. The first 13 cars all have the AC Cobra badge on hood. None after that authentically carry the AC badge, only a Cobra badge as AC was out of the picture from car 14-22. AC was unable to meet production times with Carroll Shelby and the deal ended during car 14.

This CSX1005 comes dressed in the beautiful dark blue and black interior. Under the hood a powerful 1965 Shelby 427 V8 with the "C" engine option that meant you elected to have it bored out to 490 cu in that produces 683HP, with a 5 speed Manuel transmission.
