Car description

1981 Porsche 911 SC 3.0L
You are a bidding on a beautiful 1981 Porsche 911 SC that has been garage kept for it's whole life. Here is what I know about this wonderful example.Originally purchased new in Portland Oregon on 12/8/1981 at Larry Meyers Porsche + Audi by James Rickards of Hillsboro Oregon for 36,758.00, this includes add on accessories the buyer purchased with the car new. Then after only owning the care for about 3-4 years it was then sold to a gentleman who took the car to Southern California in Palm Desert / Palm Springs area where it was enjoyed as a vacation car for the next 34 years.
I have tons of documentation for this 911 including the original window sticker, sales receipt when purchased new and years and years of on going maintenance records and love for this beautiful car. I have been saving and hunting for years to find the right 911 air cooled Porsche to buy and when this one came available I jumped all over it! Well maintained, always garaged lived almost all of it's life in Palm Springs area it was a no brainier. This is also a rare color you don't see to often also, Red Wine Metallic / X8.
Condition of the Porsche:This is basically a 40 year old car that has been very well taken care of but is not perfect. It has some small paint chips and dings here and there but in over all great condition. The second owner said that the first owner had to have the front panels repainted due to a drive he took on an Oregon road and a truck dropped a bunch of rocks that gave the car a lot of rock chips. Being a brand new car he has the front of the car repainted. When i purchased the car I wanted to make sure it wasn't from a front end crash but everything on the car looks all original down to the carpet glue in the front trunk area. I had a Porsche specialist look at the car and they agreed everything looked good and original to the car and a front end collision didn't seem to have happen so the rock chip story completely made sense. The rear engine deck lid looks like it might have also have been painted at some point but not for sure. The rear fenders, top of the car and bumper all look like original paint. I don't have a meter so I can say for sure but I would be very surprised if that wasn't the case. I have not seen any rust on the car what so ever. It has been garaged it's whole life and live most all of it's life in Palm Springs area.
The car comes with the two original keys, original booklets and paperwork including window sticker and sales receipt. See the videos for more info.
The engine all looks original and stock with only the common upgrades. The car runs and driver extremely well! The day after I picked it up I had a little car rally planned for with my Z car the next day on the central coast of California but this car was so nice I took it. It was a 300 plus mile one day rally on fun roads along the coast and the car did perfectly as it should with no issues what so ever. I was impressed on how well it did for really my first drive in it.
From what I can tell everything on the car is in working condition. I have not had the car long so I am not 100% on everything but everything I have touched works as it should. I encourage anyone serious about purchasing this beauty to come see the car and we can take it for a drive, it is a gorgeous example of a air cooled 911 SC and I hate that after all this time of looking and finding the right car I have to sell it. You are getting a fine car for this price point!
