Car description

1985 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet

Wide Body Model M491 (non turbo)

3.2 liter 6 cylinder

There are not many to argue that the wide body Porsche is the best and most aggressive looking body style for the 911 up to its time. As everybody knows there has been a continuing surge for vintage Porsches and this model is hard to find in the wide body convertible in the desirable white.

Many of the parts of the fastest production car of it's time (the actual Porsche Turbo) were supplied on the wide body Porsche (non-Turbo) such as the brake system and suspension parts.

While the model in this eBay listing came in several colors, we definitely prefer the white with black letters with the black top over the other colors, as most collector's do.

This 911 is a joy to drive and mechanically it is believed that there is nothing that it needs other than the air conditioner could use some work. While the odometer and speedometer stopped working a while back, the odometer was showing around 53,771 and was believed be correct but there is no documentation to substantiate it.

The paint, interior and top are believed to be original and the top is showing some signs of general wear. The bottom side is very clean but when it sits it may drip a few drops of oil.

The car comes with a clear Illinois title in the seller's name and is ready to drive to the local car show or for a trip of hundreds of miles. The car has a great stance and the body is in great shape. The reserve is set at a very attractive level (please don't ask) so don't hesitate to bid to win!

We are happy to answer any questions about the car or shipping; you can call 847-774-4857. Note we do not do texts and we prefer phone calls anytime from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. CST 847-774-4857 over emails. If you do get voicemail kindly leave your name, number and the best time to call you back and I will get right back to you.

It is truly a handsome Porsche and anyone who has driven a convertible Porsche will tell you that it is an extra joy to put the top down and cruise at above highway speeds, which this car loves to do! Yes! It is just one sexy car!!!
