Car description

Up for sale after decades of care and enjoyment is this 1962 Porsche 356B T6 Super coupe, ruby red with black interior in excellent condition. This Porsche comes with original documentation from Europe where it was purchased at the Porsche factory in Stuttgart Germany along with it's original owners manuals and literature that are in pristine condition including the documentation from the ship it was transported on to get to California. We also have the California black plates, the European tags, the original visor clip and touch-up paint it came with from new as well as most if not all service records including its first service while still in Europe, you don't often find a vehicle from this time period with this much documentation! While on the west coast the current owner had the engine upgraded to the 1800cc engine specs being balanced and blueprinted during a complete rebuild with the addition of Weber carbs, S-90 cam and Bursch track headers, all work documented and done by Pro Shop in CA. they are still in business today. The odometer as well as the tachometer have been replaced with original rebuilt units so the mileage showing is not accurate to the car, this was common practice back in the day, the car has over 90,000 miles while the original rebuilt engine has approximately 6500 miles since being upgraded. The tachometer is currently not working as well as the right hand turn signal, the brakes stop good and could probably use a minor adjustment, also we have found some oil seeping from a pan gasket on the engine bottom, which looks to be a straightforward repair. The transmission shifts good into reverse and 1rst, also 1rst to 2nd but I had a bit of trouble finding 3rd gear from 2nd gear, however the 4th to 3rd downshift is clean without issue, the current owner has no issue with upshifting 3r, I think the shifter may need some attention at some point. The engine starts and runs excellent, it has good power and the car drives effortlessly down the road while having a nice solid feel to it. I can provide more information upon request as well as photos that you may want, the car can be seen by appointment and I encourage you to do so, thank you.
