1989.5 Porsche 911 964 Carrera 4 Coupe Manual Transmission/Sport Seats Over $20k Recently Invested Rare Color Combination VIN: WP0AB0969KS45xxxx ENG: 62K0xxxx(M64/01) TRN: 3K0xxxx(G64/00) Numbers Matching 69,500 Original Miles Baltic Blue Metallic (C7) on Linen w/Marine Blue Trim (QD) 5-Speed Manual Transmission Clean and Clear Title Clean CarFax Report Porsche Certificate of Authenticity I’ve always been a huge fan of the 964s. It has nothing to do with the Singer cars or backdating trends. It has everything to do with how they look and drive. When I first saw the 964 at the LA Auto...Show in late 1988 I was so excited. They retained the look of that classic 911 and fixed the one part I always hated – the impact bumpers. I had to wait another decade before I got my first shot behind the wheel of one. At that point, I was sold. The improvements in suspension as well as addition of ABS, AWD, power steering, and better A/C really made it a wonderful package. As we all know, during this time Porsche was in dire financial straits and literally on the brink of bankruptcy. There were many economic factors involved, but another part of the history is that these were the last of the truly hand built cars and they were simply over engineered. It would take enthusiasts and collectors another 2-decades to begin to realize this. This 964 coupe was built on June 30th, 1989 and sold new by YBH Porsche + Audi of Edgemont, Pennsylvania on August 2nd, 1989. It was ordered with the following factory options: US Standard Emissions Blaupunkt Radio Reno Sport Seats w/Electric Height Adjustment (Left and Right) Cruise Control Amplifier System Electric Sliding Sunroof What was unusual about this example is that the color combination was primarily available for the previous G-body design cars and not the new 964 bodies. So, being that it was produced at the same time as the previous model, it received an older color combination…very cool and unique. The original owner kept the car until 1995/16k-miles. Regular/annual services were performed at the local Porsche dealership with stamps in the maintenance book. The next owner kept the car until 2006/50k-miles and continued the service regiment with more stamps in the book. The 3rd owner was another enthusiast who cared for the car for the next decade/17k-miles. It was serviced regularly and only driven on dry days. In fact, this 964 chassis is so dry that it is clear it was never driven in harsh weather conditions. Most services by this owner were performed at his local Porsche dealer. Highlights include: Regular oil services Replace alternator Service fuel valve and rail New fuel regulator Replace oxygen sensor Clean fuel system Replace front and rear brake pads with sensors (@65k-miles) Replace horns New front sway bar links New seatbelts and retractors (by Porsche) Transmission service/fluid flush (@64k-miles) Brake and clutch slave cylinder fluid flush AWD differential service New ignition distributor (@62k-miles) Replace right side blower motor and fan The recent SoCal owner purchased the car in April of 2017 from a local dealer. It had just shy of 68k miles on it. This owner is a long time Porsche enthusiast who is savvy about buying a good car. He had a thorough pre-purchase inspection before buying and it was given a clean bill of health. There were no signs of damage, corrosion, or any other abuse. There were some service items that needed attention right away. The following maintenance was recently performed: New fuel filter Major service: Oil service (with correct vintage Porsche filter) Spark plugs Valve adjustment New valve cover gaskets Air filter Replace several oil lines/hoses New front shock bump stops and boots Replaced front control arm bushings Replaced engine sound pad New A/C condenser fan New drive and a/c belts A/C service and dye check for leaks New power steering pump hose Replaced exhaust manifold New decklid shocks New Michelin tires New wiper blades New factory spare key (uncut) Custom CocoMats (4 pieces) Steve Wong performance chip (original included) Fabspeed exhaust tip (stock tip included) New rear light lenses (all 3 replaced – originals in good shape and included) In total, over the past 6k-miles, over $17k has been invested in maintaining this 964. Furthermore, the current owner wanted the car to look as good as it drives. So, he spent nearly $5,000 enhancing the cosmetics. This included: Refinishing hood (original clear coat had issues) Ceramic coat (4 layers) entire exterior Ceramic Pro coating on entire interior including plastic, carpet, and leather Ceramic coat wheels and brake calipers Clear Bra entire front of car, headlights and mirrors (everything up to the A-pillar) Recently, the A/C system was converted back to its original R12 (which blows much colder and is better for the system). The system blows extremely cold. As you can imagine, this 964 looks spectacular. The paint has a great shine with that wet look. The ceramic coating really gives it a great luster. There are minimal signs of use. The hood paint was original when the current owner purchased the car and showing some clear coat damage. So, the owner had it repainted. A good portion of the paint is original and verified with a paint meter. There was some paint work on the right rear fender with blending/clear on the deck lid and part of the left fender. Visually, the color match is spot on and there is no difference. The original D9 wheels have been ceramic coated as well and look new. There are no curb rashes and they are wearing near new Michelin tires. The brakes and rotors are also near new. The glass is all original, including the windshield. All the exterior lights work properly. The interior is equally as immaculate. The leather sport seats are in great shape and have no tears or rips. There are minimal signs of use on the driver exit bolsters. The dash is perfect with no cracks or warping. The headliner, door panels, and carpet all look fresh with no signs of wear. The whole interior was recently cleaned and coated in ceramic coating to further protect it from stains. All the gauges work properly including the clock and original Blaupunkt radio. The A/C system blows very cold and all the interior lights work. All the proper vin stamps and badges are in place including both doors, door jambs, hood, and deck lid (see pics). This 964 drives superb. Everything feels so tight, responsive, and fresh. The motor starts easily with the first turn of the key and holds a nice idle. The throttle response is strong. The shifter moves through the gears easily with no grinding or slipping. The brakes have a good initial bite with no fading or pulling. Everything about how this car drives is spot on. This 911 could easily be put into daily use, touring events, local shows, etc. And, the best part is you can enjoy it during all four seasons. This car passes California’s stringent smog certification. Included with this Porsche is original owner’s manuals, Cocomats (4), original muffler tip, original tail light/center reflector lenses, original software chip, space saver spare, jack, factory tool kit, and new car cover. **Note: VIN and other numbers withheld to protect against fraud.
