Car description

A restored example of a 912 that is turn key and ready to enjoy. Matching numbers. Comes with COA. Exterior: The car was completely dismantled and bead blasted to bare metal in 2012. It was repainted in it's original color, itter Chocolate (408, 3T3). Have 40+ color photos of a documented restoration in 2012 done by the 3rd owner. It has always been garaged and shows as very much like new condition. Free of any damage, o dings, o dents, o scratches, o prior accidents and no rust. The glass appears to be all original with no cracks. Comes with 2 sets of factory Fuchs wheels, oth in excellent condition (including original option for the model 14 inch diameter with matching brown centers and a set of 15 inch rims with unpainted centers). Both sets of tires are like new with less than 1,000 miles on them. Interior: The interior is in overall excellent condition and shows well. The Beige/Tan leatherette upholstery is damage free and very comfortable. The seats have been redone. The full carpet was replaced and shows very light wear. The floor mats were replaced and shows as like new condition. The dashboard has no cracks. The headliner is good condition. The sun visors are new. Performance: The car runs very well. It drives strong, teers smoothly, and stops perfectly. The engine was rebuilt less than 10K miles ago. The 5 speed gearbox and transmission, oth operate smoothly. Stock fuel injection. No AC. Mechanical: All gauges operate properly: low beam / high beam lights, horn, urn signals, azard lights, peedometer, dometer, achometer, temp gauge, lock, adio/CD, ighter, ear defroster, indshield wipers, idows, oor locks, nd door handles; Everything is working as it should. The front hood, ear deck lid, nd both doors open and close with no issues. The motor was rebuilt by the 3rd owner to whom I spoke and obtained receipts from the shop that did the work which was done within the last 10,000 miles. Provenance: The car has been owned by 6 people including myself. I have spoken to 3 of the 5 previous owners. The first owner sold the car within a year of purchase. The 2nd owner had the car for 35 years and I have spoken to him. The 3rd owner had the car restored and the motor rebuilt and I have spoken to him. The 4th owner only had the car for a couple of months when he sold it to the 5th owner who had the car for a year when he sold the car to me. The car has always been on the East Coast going from Washington, C to Baltimore, d to York, a, hen to Philadelphia before coming to me in South Carolina. The car comes with a Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche and it is a "Numbers Matching" car. Also included are the service and maintenance records dating back from 1976 . The original owners manual and the original dealership brochure are also included with the sale of the car. This color is one of the rare 912 colors listed by the 912 Registry with only 44 surviving 912's with this color, nd only a handful of 912E models. This car benefits from a factory galvanized body, he only 912 model so treated by Porsche. The 912E was intended for sale in North America only and is powered by the 2.0 liter fuel-injected 914-derived engine "which took Porsche engineers two years to develop and refine", nd shared the very same chassis and body styling of the 911S coupe of that same year. The Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection system used is often referred to as the Air Flow Controlled (AFC) system later adapted for use in the 911 series. The 912E's were all assembled in Porsche's Stuttgart factory in Germany unlike many of the other 912's which were actually assembled at the Karmann factory. In June 1976, 12E production ended with the completion of number 2,099, orldwide. This final 912E also became Porsche's last air-cooled four-cylinder production car.
