Car description

Dubbed "The Secret Weapon from Zuffenhausen," the 1970 Porsche 911E was the quickest model in their product offering at the time. Ironically, he E was introduced as the successor for the 911L as a "luxury" model with a new 2.2 liter engine, nd intended to be a more usable option positioned between the 911T and 911S (Touring and Sport, espectively). Ventilated brake disks coupled with aluminum calipers and the first iteration of the longer wheelbase provide honest driving feedback, upporting the popular notion that the E boasts superior road holding to its sister T and S models. By replacing the Weber carbs with Bosch mechanical fuel injection the 911 "Einspritzung", erman for injection, elivers 158 BHP and is most thoroughly enjoyed in the low range where the torque band is plentiful. This particular car was purchased new in Germany by a member of the Canadian Forces while he was stationed there. When he returned to Canada he had the car shipped here. From there it was purchased by a doctor who owned it for 10 years. He sold it to a patient of his who owned it for the last 20 years. During his ownership it was driven 5,000 km. The car was taken off the road when it started to backfire. The Engine was completely disassembled and checked in the machine shop. One of the screws from the throttle bodies had fallen down and was holding a valve partly open, uckily no damage was done. Everything was said to be within spec with minimal wear.Mechanical fuel injection is intact and comes with the car as well as a spare parts pump. Engineis still disassembled so you know exactly what you get.At some point during its life it was converted to a newer look. I don't know if it happened when it was imported or after that. The body does have rust, articularly the fenders and some bubbles starting to form on the drivers side lower corner of the rear window. The floor pans look to be very solid as well as all the suspension points, ear seat pans, arcel shelf etc. One battery box is great theother has a hole you could probably fit a finger through. If you need any more detailed photos please ask. It should be brought back to its former glory and should undergo a full restoration. Unfortunately it is a larger project than I have time for.The Car comes complete with its Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche showing the Numbers matching for the engine and transmission. According to 911specs.com only 1088 coupes were built worldwide in 1970 making the 911E more rare than a 911S. To add to that this car is anon sunroof car, riginally in the very rare Metallic Green, color code 83/83 exterior with Brown Leatherette and Corduroy Inserts on the interior. It comes with its original set of 5 datestamped Fuchs wheels 15x6 with hearts. Once restored this car will be spectacular.Shipping is buyers responsibility but I will do what I can to assist.
