Car description

Offered is my original, atching numbers '83 911SC. See detailed, igh resolution images at https://flic.kr/s/aHskjRr9nq

Once I decided acquire a 911SC, considered many other cars over more than a year before locating this one. I purchased the car 2 years ago in Omaha NE where it was sold new. The car had obviously been well cared for and was not exposed to Nebraska winter driving, ut it needed attention to bring it to a high level. I gave the car what it needed and made it the 911 I want it to be, oth mechanically and cosmetically. I have decided to market the car while it is at its best and before I drive it much. If the offer is right, way it will go.

Paint & Body: I methodically detailed and polished the mostly original Guards Red Glasurit paint, ringing out deep luster and an overall glassy finish. The paint has some tiny blemishes as might be expected from 32 years, ut it is unquestionably beautiful overall. All black trim is excellent and a rich contrast to the red. With the 911SC, orsche made the sunroof standard equipment although it listed as an accessory - so having a 'sunroof delete' Super Carrera is rare and desirable. It makes for a stiffer chassis and a beautiful, nbroken roof. Sleek and bright 100W H4 lamps were installed with correct new rubber seals and the proper relay. The original headlamps and red trim rings are included. All glass is excellent original and the windshield is new Sekurit with new genuine Porsche rubber, lack aluminum trim and wiper blades (no air leaks). Underside is practically spotless although the cosmoline wax is preserved. This 911SC is absolutely rust free and has certainly never had collision damage.

Engine & Transmission: While the low mileage, .0 L car performed well when I purchased it, t was due for engine-out service to address oil leaks between the case and cylinder bases. This required removing the cams, am towers and heads, istons, nd cylinders, ut leaving the rods, rank and case intact. No effort was spared in this process, nd the end result is a spotless drivetrain that performs exactly as new with no leaks, ven idle, ompression across cylinders 179-182 psi (adjusted for our altitude), nd leak down only 2-3% @ 100 psi (measurements taken 9/29/15, nap on gauges).

After disassembly and all the cleaning, ower, nbroken Dilavar head studs were replaced with stock steel. Heads were cleaned, alves lapped by hand, nd valve guide seals replaced. Pistons and cylinders were cleaned, nd cylinder bore was accurately determined to be well within original specifications. Cylinder walls were lightly honed and the bottom end was reassembled with proper sealants, new stock size Mahle rings, eals, askets, il return tubes and RSR rocker arm shaft o-rings. Oil fed timing chain tensioners and new chain ramps were installed as well as the freshly turned original flywheel and new Sachs pilot bearing, hrow-out bearing, lutch disc and pressure plate.

The engine shroud cleaned up like new with soap and water, nd most hardware was re-plated. The fan and housing assembly went out to Mark Motshagen in Costa Mesa CA, here it was flawlessly cleaned to naked magnesium with a matt clear coat applied. It is stunning! CIS fuel Injection was thoroughly cleaned and inspected with new fuel injectors, ntake boots, askets and vacuum lines installed. Sheet metal was cleaned leaving original paint intact. New spark plugs (NGK BP7ES), istributor cap, otor, park plug wire boots, an belt, ll throttle linkage bushings and hot air hoses were installed.

While the original components are in good unrestored condition and included with this offering, new original configuration stainless steel exhaust system was installed, ade up of a polished FabSpeed catalytic converter (w/ new oxygen sensor), ansk heat exchangers, rossover tube and the lovely polished Dansk sport muffler. The components are taking on a gun metal blue tint where they get hot. Exhaust note is wonderful... The pop-off valve was installed in the air box and genuine Porsche insulation was fitted in the detailed original engine compartment. CV axles were cleaned, nspected and rebuilt with original bearings and boots, new CV gaskets and Swepco grease. I am running Valvoline VR-1 20w50 racing oil and fresh Kendall Special Limited Slip 80w90 gear lube in the transaxle. Engine was run-in properly as if it were a new rebuild, nd it is dry after approx. 800 miles of break-in and easy driving to date. Engine performance is exceptional and greatly improved over my previous experience with the car. 5-speed 915 transmission shifts as it should. Car has not seen rain since this work was completed -

Brakes & Suspension: The front brakes are fresh with clean rebuilt calipers, enuine Porsche pads, nd turned rotors. Rear brakes are original and way too good to take apart. Brake system was flushed with new fluid. Wheel bearings were cleaned and greased with new seals installed. Otherwise the suspension is tight and all original including all four green Boge sport shock absorbers.

Wheels & Tires: The original 16x6" (front) & 16x7" (rear) Fuchs wheels with serviceable Micheline tires are included with this sale. They are in decent condition but not as nice as the wheels on the car. After considerable research, opted to mount a set of 16x7" (front) and 16x8" (rear) Fuchs wheels which are in beautiful polished condition. They give the vehicle an aggressive stance and nicely fill the wheel wells with 205/55 ZR 16 (front) and 255/50 ZR 16 (rear) Micheline Pilot Sport tires that have plenty of meat on them. All 20 anodized lug nuts are new. The anodized hubcaps are original and now installed although they are missing from most of the photos. Wheels & tires are road force balanced and aligned - the car drives smooth and straight at all speeds.

Interior & Instruments: The interior is original and in excellent to perfect condition. Headliner, arpets, eather seats, eather dash, eather door panels - all in the condition of a car with 25,000 miles or less. Seats were removed to professionally clean the carpets. All the leather was thoroughly cleaned and repeatedly treated. Door panels were removed, oor latches and window gears were lubricated and the panels were reinstalled with full integrity even at the arm rests which typically sink into the door pockets over time. The driver's seat belt is new and all other belts are as new. A previous owner installed Blaupunkt speakers that just look right in the car. I installed a modern Blaupunkt Toronto head unit to finish out an upgraded 'Porsche appropriate' stereo system that sounds great and has connections for iPhone or MP3 player. Mo-Ma Manufacturing serviced the speedometer and fitted the clock (it keeps perfect time) with a new bezel. Wiring under the dash is tidy. I added the silver MoMo Prototipo wheel as a classic accent to the all-black interior, nd I love it's feel. The original black leather steering wheel is excellent and included.

Air Conditioning: The Griffiths Kuehl A/C System is a modern R134a rotary compressor kit (https://griffiths.com/product/911-kuehl-507-compressor-kit-3b-replaces-old-york-2/). It blows cold with very little noticeable drag on the engine when engaged and it looks great! My wife and I drove the car from Albuquerque to the Santa Fe Concorso in 85 degree heat, nd she was pleased w/ the cool A/C. The original condenser with its delicate fins is near perfect. All fans work, s well as vents for fresh air and heat. Heater tubes were replaced.

Trunk & Tools: The original Perlon carpet is in excellent condition with no stains, ears or rot from the battery. Spare tire has never been used, or has the compressor. The gas tank has been out and flushed and a new fuel pump was installed. The complete tool roll and jack are original to the car. The trunk compartment is clean and original. Both the trunk and engine compartment lights work, s do all other electricals.

Documentation: The owner's manual, aintenance book and maroon cover are in nice condition. They indicate that the car was sold new at Novak Porsche Audi in Omaha Nebraska. Certificate of Authenticity and 1983 Porsche sales literature are also included. There are many receipts. Car has a clear New Mexico title in my name.

For the last two years I've spent most of my available time on this car. I realize that I may have overdone some items in trying to achieve my aim for the car, ut it is really nice now - impeccably refreshed, ollectable and drivable, eady to go anywhere. A car characterized as bulletproof, hey say the SC is the next 911 Porsche to pop. I have a strong inclination to keep the car, ut here it is - offered only because I know the it will never be in better shape for sale and because I could stand to free funds for the restoration of a green car :)

I encourage anybody interested to arrange inspection in my Albuquerque NM shop ahead of the auction end date. I have a lift as pictured.

Seller can assist with making the car and parts ready for shipment, ut transport cost for the car and parts is the sole responsibility of the buyer. Covered transport is a must, ut then the car could be driven anywhere.

I reserve the right to end the auction early as the car is available locally.

This car is offered as-is, here is, ith no warranty implied or included. The car and title will only be released to the Buyer upon Seller's receipt of the full purchase price in cash.

I have sold 3 other sorted vehicles here to happy owners in NY, L and GA. I have also bought cars on Ebay from across the country. Check my feedback.

Thanks for looking and, enjoy the ride." - Mike Friggens (505) 259-9077
