Car description

Beautiful 1955 Pontiac Star Chief original Silver Streak! This car is complete and running great. Original Plate from 55! Factory markings on firewall! An impressive survivor car!I bought this car while visiting my grandfather in Oregon and drove it back 855 miles to Los Angeles myself. It runs great! Now yes that was brave of me but I am a classic car restoration specialist and while I'm not familiar with this era per say ( I work on later model european cars) I had no trouble feeling confident we would make it.. there's just something about how great this car is! (I did however tow her over the grape vine section of the five to avoid unnecessary strain) I work seasonally in Los Angeles preparing cars for concourse de elegance in August so I only needed some short term, nd fu, ransportation. I wanted a car I could learn about and have some fun with.. I wasn't expecting to find this gem and honestly I'm in love with this car but I must sell to fund my summer travel photography projects. Mileage was at 44K when I bought her! I have put 1k miles and counting on her and she just keeps driving better as she kinda warms back up. I drive her to my work at the garage through Beverly Hills everyday. I have put Lucas additives in transmission as well as seafoam in trans and gas tank. with every tank of gas and the respective amount of lucas additive she just purrs even smoother. Starts everytime. I have tuned her idle a little high to smooth it out as well as loosened kick down assembly to make gears shift faster so as to not strain engine and get better gas mileage. Rear doors have not been opened due to door latch not being functional. I suspect its an easy fix and not due to them being rusted shut or anything just based on how healthy the rest of the car is. I think probably the latch rod is just broken. One door panel missing and the rest are pretty much donzo but I have all roller and interior metal trim pieces ready to put back together when you redo things. Original Paint! Chrome is in pretty decent shape. It seems as though the car has never been hit or in an accident. I absolutely love the patina on this car and personally wouldnt touch it at all. I was going to take a DA to it to polish it up but determined that paint might be too delicate for that. Will probably just hand wash another time and wax to bring a mild shine. Mileage is original. Don't believe me? come see her for yourself. I have had many co workers and enthusiasts at car cruises agree. If I was keeping this car (which I desperately want to) my actions would be as follows. Weld new 24"x36" panels into floor board areas. Undercoat cabin floors and trunk for insulation and sound. Install new copper carpet kit. Install new door panels. Install new headliner and rear dash. Maybe black carpet for trunk. Driver door window glass. Fix speaker. Stuff rienforcement padding into drivers side of bench (its sagging but not even that bad!) Tune carb... and fix heating ducting (currently blows warm air due to paper ducts disintegrating lol) but I do drive it in Cali summer with heat as is really not too bad the vent windows are awesome and totally make up for the heat malfuction. Oh and get a new spare tire mounted and drive drive drive! Maybe satin clear coat the patina! :))))This all can be done while you enjoy driving and and cruise this car! These fixes are pretty minimal bu involved enough to give you plenty of projects! I really want her to go to a loving forever home that will give her the TLC that she needs!I have iPhone and am more than happy to facetime and give you a tour of the vehicle if you are an active bidder. You are more than welcome to come see the car in Los Angele, est Hollywood area. I will be listing this car locally and reserve the right to end auction early if she sells outside of ebay for within 1k of my full asking of 6,500KHurry Up and bid if you like her she is likely to go fast6,500 buys this car today and all her pictures and me as an interested party in her development for her lifetime. I named her Debra and she's really special to me. yes I am the girl in the pics with the red hair :)
