Car description

"TO ALL YOU GT-37 FANS. ""THIS IS THE LAST KNOWN GT-37 BUILT""". To those that do not know about the GT-37 History, please read up on the history of its beginning and end. The GT-37,s were only BUILT for 1 and 1/2 years. Known as the 1970 1/2, 1971, and 1971 1/2 models, They all had several things in common. REPORTED TO BE THE FASTEST PONTIAC FACTORY OPTIONED PRODUCTION MODELS FOR THOSE PRODUCTION YEARS. All had hood pin kits, dual pipes, dual mirrors, Rally II wheels with caps and G70-14 raised letter tire, but no chrome wheel trim rings, rubber mats instead of carpet, most sound insulation removed, 140 MPH speedometers, and Judge style body decals, though the three different models had different body decals. Making the GT-37 models about 120 pounds lighter than the GTO's, and the Judges. In reality it appears they were making a Second generation GTO Judge. The first model year was a 1970 1/2 and was built mid year under the Tempest Division. Only 1419 were 1970 1/2 were built. There were total of only 5802 GT-37's built in 1971 and 1971 1/2, under the Lemans Division, of which the last 50 GT-37's were special Sword stripe version. It was advertised as "The Poor man's GTO". Split Bench seats only, as the bucket seats were not available on the 1970 1/2 model, but were added option for the 1971 and 1971 1/2 models. All three GT-37 models all had the same GTO, and Judge factory high speed equipment options available. Ram air III 400 motor for 1970 1/2 models, and HO 455 for the 1971 models to name a few motors available. You could also order rear spoilers THIS IS A NO RESERVE LISTING
My GT-37 that is for sale, was built on the last week of June 6, 1971, and was sent to Holloway motor Co. in Ontario Oregon. It was purchased by an owner across the Snake river in Payette,Idaho on October 1, 1971. My car comes with PHS documents, original Pontiac Vehicle Warranty, and original owners manual. This GT-37 will require full restoration, though it has good bones. The options were AC, and tilt wheel plus all the GT-37 basic equipment as explained above. The motor is original 350 V8 and automatic 3 speed transmission. The motor turns over by hand and ran when parked several years ago. Will need to be hauled on a trailer, but steers and has brakes needed for safe loading / unloading. The came with a bench seat. The hood has been replaced and new hood pin kit needs to be installed on the replacement hood as per factory specs. (Pictures show the location of the hood pins needing to be installed by the new owner). The GT-37 is straight and appears to not have any major rusted out areas on the quarters, fenders and doors. Slight damage to the passenger fender and front end header panel. All the glass is S/R and in good condition, the doors open and shut very good. The trunk floor is re-storable and the interior floors may need some patching. It was a vinyl top car and all the original chrome comes with it. Door panels are in the trunk and a few other parts. There is rusted out area on the rear window areas that will need a couple of patches as shown in pictures however I am supplying the small patch metal needed for replacement. This GT-37 has a dark green exterior and came with a white reflective Sword stripe (missing because of repainting). The interior is green also. The decal/sword striping are still available for purchase new. I have included a photo of what a GT-37 looks like when finished. Thanks for looking THIS IS A NO RESERVE LISTING. Seller has right to end auction Early. It is also sold as is and where it is located in Gresham, Oregon. Seller has 30 days to pick up the GT-37. Serious bidders/collectors only. Thanks
