Car description

What do you get when you take a LeMans and turn it up to 11? Maybe something like this '65 LeMans Pro Street. It packs a 400 CI Ram Air III, a 4-speed, a gorgeous interior, and the right hardware to make it scary fast YET streetable. If you like the idea of a Pontiac that takes no prisoners, this incredible Pro Street won't disappoint. The Wineberry Metallic paint is miles deep and beautifully applied, but it's... really the stance that grabs your attention first. There's no mistaking the PMD muscle car DNA at work here, from the stacked headlights and mesh grilles to the beautiful Coke-bottle shape. The paint is indeed worthy of scrutiny, a beautiful finish that's deep and lustrous and is exactly the right color to grab everyone's attention as you cruise into the show. There are plenty of trick details, ranging from the custom hood scoop that clears the monster engine, to the blacked-out treatment on the bumpers and all the trim and brightwork. You'll also note that the badges are blacked-out too, a trick that flows with the sinister theme of the whole build. The stance has an aggressive rake to further the custom look and it's pretty clear that nobody's going to mistake this for a stocker. The beautiful Parchment bucket seat interior has some good race-grade hardware, but at the same time, it was obviously built for the street. All the soft parts are newer and correct reproductions, so it looks right, and the Pontiac emblems look fantastic. There's Simpson 2-point harness seatbelts to strap you in for those foot-down accelerations, and the although the seats are factory-original shape, they provide enough support to take corners with confidence. But make no mistake, this is a street car, so it also has power steering and power front disc brakes. The factory gauges are long gone, replaced by a custom bezel filled with white-face Auto Meter dials and a Moroso switch panel, and there's a pistol-grip Hurst shifter between the seats. The wood-rimmed steering wheel is in great shape, and to the left of it is a very convenient cut-off switch. The trunk is fully customized with a fuel cell and an A1000 fuel pump and regulator, along with a relocated battery. The hardware is what truly makes this car special, and the 400 cubic inch Ram Air III V8 under the hood is extremely impressive. Topping the paint-matched block are dual Edelbrock 4-barrel carbs that sit atop an Offenhauser aluminum intake that work alongside the serpentine system and Accel ignition to snap this big motor to attention. Everything is show quality, from the braided steel lines to the big electric fans on the aluminum radiator keeping it all cool. Of course, there's plenty of polished aluminum and chrome to dress things up a bit, and nice custom touches like the paint-matched accents on the finned valve covers and tall hood scoop. The transmission is a Muncie 4-speed linked to somewhat shockingly highway friendly rear-end with Yukon axles, all dressed up in a Summit Racing aluminum diff cover. A recently addressed front suspension uses newer upper/lower control arms and ball joints, as well as power steering, while the rear has a big sway bar to stiffen the back end. There's disc brakes up front and the longtube header-fed dual exhaust system uses Flowmaster mufflers for a throaty soundtrack. Staggered Weld wheels add an aggressive look and carry 205/60/16 front Falken performance radials and giant 275/60/15 rear Mickey Thompson drag radials. This is race car performance packaged as a street car, and thanks to the wonders of modern paint, you'll be amazed how great it looks in person. Call today!!
