Car description

I am Selling a True Piece of Muscle Car History! This is a 100% Matching Numbers Original Drivetrain 1970 Pontiac GTO Hardtop that came from the Factory with Colors being Triple Green and the Goat has factory Air Conditioning with Power Steering and Power Disc Brakes and Tinted Glass. The Drivetrain consists of: The Original YS 400CI/350HP Vin matching Engine with it's Original Turbo Hyramatic 400 PX Code and The Original Rear end that came with a 10 bolt 3:32 WF Code open rear which has now Brand new 3:36 Richmond/Eaton Posi unit in it. I have the Original 3:32 unit which is in great condition also that goes with the car. Here is a little history on the 1970 Goat. I found this car In a Barn where it was taken apart over 30+ years ago and I mean taken apart! Everything was removed! The body was lifted off the Frame and the Frame was Blasted and somewhat painted and then all new Front end parts such as Ball Joints upper/lower Control arm bushings done upper/lower, Sway bar Ends and then put back together without the rear end in it. So basically it was a pile of 1970 GTO but all Original parts! They come apart easy but so much harder to put back together! Money and Time!! I purchased this to put all things back together as exact as they come factory with all correct GM hardware so this Goat can be once again a car that is worthy of restoration for that serious Poncho restorer! I had done numerous 1968-70 GTO's over the past 40 years so I have a lot of Original parts with Knowledge to boot. The 70 Gto has a lot going for it! The floors are very solid! the trunk floor is very nice with the inside floors having a couple tiny places patch welded, All underside Floor braces are real nice and the Frame of the GTO is solid and straight! No repairs done and also you can see clearly the Numbers and info stamped in the Rear Drivers side rail! The body of this 70 is also real good but not perfect! Good set of Doors/Fenders/Unkinked/straight Hood/Straight Endura Bumper complete with all original brackets/headlight buckets/grills, Solid Front Valance Panel that has dings with good parking/signal lights and fillers, The rear valance with factory cutouts has rust. I will throw another one in that is a little better bur has rust also. The original trunk lid has rust right through the lower edge. I am throwing another one in that is better condition but it still has some rust on the underside metal but repairable! The cowl area is nice and solid but the windshield area where the factory antenna plug is rotted a little and also the windshield frame area on the outer upper corners has some also, The rear window area and the package tray area is nice! the trunk drip channel and rear tailpanel of this goat is also good! The rocker panels are also good! Both rear Quarter Panels have been cut off and with the drivers side Having a Repro one started to be sized in place and the Passenger one not yet but I do have the repro one going with the car and also one outer wheel well to, I have most of the Chrome trim also with the exception of one Wheel well opening is missing and one rocker panel chrome is missing also. Like I said this GTO is worthy of a good restoration! The original interior is a Bucket seat floor shift Console with crank windows and the Dash is a NON Rally Gauge package with a delete plate where clock/tach goes. All is there but seats need to be redone! The dash pad has several cracks and is brittle from time. The headliner was removed but all rods are there and nice interior window lacing is complete. The two rear armrests are gone? I have a couple that are going with the car that will have to be dyed, I do have the metal original green pieces. The floor console is in real nice condition but the lid is shot. The original deluxe steering wheel is all there. I have all the dash AC ducts with the exception of the under dash piece I never found it? The drivetrain: The Original 1970 Dated (L-10-9) YS vin matched Block with casting #9799914 Engine was also disassembled totally! It has the Standard size bearings so this was never bored out! Everything looks good! All Cylinders look good! The Nodular Crank also looks good and is Factory #97954 329 NOD CFD6 and has the Original camshaft #524 009, All Original Pistons are there. I have everything with the exception of the gentleman lost the drivers side #13 Head dated (L-17-9) Which I am still trying to track down where it went? The Original Intake #9799068 dated (L-17-9) which has the Original Rochester 4 BBl carb #7040264 M9 VB & original Throttle bracket G 4 with Original Choke #9098 and Original Distributor #1111148 dated (9M 14) & Timing Cover #9796346-6. Also have all of the Original AC brackets and unit with this Engine. The Tranny Tag info is: PY Coded with #10476. The Original WF 3:23 Rear Housing is stamped with WF # and then cast with #9799100 and Dated (L-03-9) which has the Brand new 3:36 Richmond Eaton Posi unit installed but the axles are not installed yet because new bearings are needed first. This all is out of the car but I put a 1969 Lemans 2:56 10 bolt open rear for rolling/transportation reasons with regular control arms but you are getting the Original boxed ones with the Original rear sway bar also. Also the rear Chrome Bumper is complete with good brackets and Tailight housings and lenses and wiring all there! This 1970 Goat also has it's Original 14 x 6 Rally II JT Coded Rims with Original Trim Rings. the centers are not the Original PMD's but the Pontiac Arrowhead symbol. So as you Read! I am all about Originality and keeping this 1970 GTO preserved in it's Factory Conditioned state!
THIS GTO NEEDS RESTORATION! FULL ONE! Not for the weak Heart'd! SO PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS! I ALSO HAVE MANY PICTURES AT DIFFERENT STAGES! SERIOUS GTO ENTHUSIAST'S TAKE NOTICE OF THIS 70 GOAT!! AS YOU HAVE RED HERE! I TOO AM A NUMBER CRUNCHER AND A SERIOUS GTO GUY! I ALSO DID A PHS ON THE CAR TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS TRUE! IT IS!!
This GTO will be sold with a CT BILL OF SALE and will have a Notarized Form only and the PHS Docs! I do not have a Title for the car! CT does not issue them for a car of this age! I have tried to explain here about this 1970 GTO to the best I can! If I left something out I am only Human! My past dealings with my Goats that I have sold over the past 40 years of doings is this one is a TRUE BARN FIND TIME CAPSULE THAT WAS TAKEN APART AND THEN GIVEN UP! THE CAR DOES NOT RUN OR DRIVE! IT WILL ROLL AND STEER FOR LOADING PURPOSE! NO BRAKES EITHER! THE 70 GTO IS LOCATED IN CONNECTICUT!P.S. I do have other parts available not included in what I am asking for this car! We can discuss at time of sale! Thanks for the Look! NO DISAPPOINTMENTS ON THIS 1970 Goat! THIS IS A NO RESERVE LISTING!
