Car description

1970 PLYMOUTH BARRACUDA 426 HEMI CONVERTIBLE

PLEASE LOOK OVER 100 PHOTOGRAPHS BELOW.

This Hemi tribute 1970 Plymouth Cuda Grand Coupe convertible is (1) of (17) known four speeds to exist in Chrysler Plymouth historian Galen Govier's documented registry. See photos below of documentation. According to Galen Govier's documentation a total of (17) 4 speed Grand Coupe Convertibles were built in 1970. This car started life in 1970 as (1) of the (17) built 4 speeds by Plymouth. Documentation shows how this car was built when new.

This car from day one was a Grand coupe convertible 318 pistol grip Hurst 4 speed, with rally red exterior, factory white interior bucket seats, and console before the rotisserie restoration with many more factory original options as shown on the original fender tag and broadcast sheet and also listed below.

This car was found in California with all its original Rally Red factory paint and interior with very low documented DOT original 38,264 miles with a spotless rust free body. This car was purchased in California by a private collector who always wanted a 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda 4 speed convertible and never had a chance to buy an original one on the dealership show room floor when these cars were being sold brand new in 1970.
So he set out to find a virgin original Cuda convertible in minty low mileage original condition that he could duplicate like the original 1970 (1) of (5) built Hemi Cudas 4 speeds that was offered by Plymouth in 1970. He found what he was looking for in this car you see in the photos here. He made sure all date codes were exact for his restoration.
He collected a mint correct all original low mileage dated 1970/ 426 Hemi motor with its original 30 thousand bore with correct dated carburetors and had it completely built by renowned race legend engine builders Lee Brothers Specialties. Please see this 426 Hemi motor dyno balanced and blue printed speck sheet from Lee Brothers below in the documentation pictures. Next he purchased an OEM, NOS rare complete shaker hood assembly. From there he found a super scat pack 1970 dated 18 spline heavy duty Hemi transmission with a dated 1970 correct Dana 410 ratio rear end.
His goal at this point was to have a concourse rotisserie restored 1970 Plymouth Cuda 426 Hemi four-speed convertible just like as if he was walking into the show room Plymouth dealership in 1970 to purchase a 1970 Hemi Cuda convertible with 4 speed (1)of (5) built from the factory.

This private collector took this low mileage original paint 1970 California Grand Coupe 4 speed convertible to be rotisserie restored at the famous renowned (Joeys place restoration) in Edmonton Alberta Canada. Joeys has been doing 1st class restorations for over 50 years. When I spoke to Joey he said he had over 1500 hrs. of labor in this car and like most professional restoration facilities the costs are usually well over $100 an hour to produce a concourse level full rotisserie restoration as photographs show. I have a full 3 ring binder showing the complete restoration and documentation. Once this car was completed it was driven less than 60 miles and put into a museum for display until I purchased this car from the museum. It now has 175 carefully driven miles after the odometer was set back to zero when restoration was completed.

You will notice it won 1st place at the 50th anniversary 426 Hemi convention in Nevada along with numerous other first place trophies all signed by the biggest Mopar names. Always traveling in a enclosed trailer.
This car was built for the owner as a tribute show car so there is no misunderstanding with a 1970 dated professionally rebuilt original bore dated 1970 426 Hemi motor all correctly coordinated for the VIN # of this car with a super Trac pack conversion as shown with Dana 410 rear end.
Check out the photos of the entire bare metal immaculate original rust free California bodybefore it was painted with detailed macro photography. This car is built better than new from the factory documented with today's technology in mechanicals, suspension and paint design.

Over $250,000 invested to make this tribute one of the finest you'll find in the world fully documented with a three ring binder as mentioned with documented photographed complete rotisserie restoration history.

Once again too much to list and I'm sure I'm forgetting many things. Truly one of the finest tribute 1970 Cuda grand coupe four-speed convertibles in the world.
If you were at the Mecum car auction 2015 on Aug 13 -15th you may have seen one of the original 1970 Plymouth Hemi Cuda automatic convertibles lot# F69 that sold for $2,250,000. Also a lemon twist Hemi cuda convertable 4 speed Lot F109 January 15-24/2016 that sold at Mecum for $2.6 million.
You can google these auctions to see the results. This car I am offering was built to exacting specifications as the original production (1) of (5) four speeds and has all the right options and more and can be purchased for a fraction of the cost of the original (1) of (5).

I will be selling this car for much less than the restoration cost. This car looks brand new everywhere. Photos of this car do it no justice. This car looks immaculate 6 inches from your eye viewing everywhere you look up down backwards or sideways inside or out.
I have only driven this car a careful 115 miles since its completion. This car has great accessories, and options as follows: Power disc brakes, Power steering, White leather interior with bucket seats, front and rear elastmeric bumper package, Rim blow steering wheel, Luggage rack, Super Trac pack, Pistol grip 4 speed with console, 18 spline heavy duty hemi transmission, and OEM/NOS 1970 shaker hood assembly and more This car is truly like going back in time 1970 and buying a brand new hemi cuda convertible
