Car description

Up for bid is a 1990 Peugoet 405 wagon with 101k one owner miles. Car was from north, but not driven much in anything, so body is solid with only a couple small rust spots, and solid undercarriage. Powered provided by its original 1.9L fuel injected OHC 4 cylinder engine and 4 speed automatic transmission. Needs lots of little things, but great driver as is - good motor, trans, tires, brakes, steering. Engine rebuild well documented by googling the VIN number. Good history report showing no accidents. All sorts of extra parts included (see pics). Runs and drives great.
Questions? Click "ask seller a question" or call Fred at 315-246-0612. Please allow time for a response as I work 8-5 at a regular job in Charleston.
Car available for showing in Mt. Pleasant after 6:30 pm weekdays or any time weekends by appointment.

Condition Report
ENGINE: Runs on all four cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Rebuilt less that 10k miles ago. Engine runs at proper temperature. Good battery and charging system. Starts easy and runs strong. Newer fuel pump.
TRANSMISSION: Performs as designed. Engages gears quickly and shifts through all four forward gears and reverse with good torque converter performance.
EXTERIOR: Body: Body is very nice with only a couple small dings. The only rust is a small spot on the sill of the right rear door. Paint: Paint is in good shape and all original except a touch up spot above the right cargo window. Some nicks and scratches, but shiny and presentable. Other: Trim and emblems are intact. Plastic bumpers and header/grill panel in great shape. Right front part of bumper has a warp, but not ripped or torn. Windshield and all other glass are excellent - no wiper scratches or cracks. Undercarriage is in good shape - see the pics of undercarriage. Factory aluminum wheels are in near perfect shape but center caps are missing. Exhaust is solid but looks original.
INTERIOR: Interior of the car is very nice and reflective of low miles. Carpets are in nice shape and clean, seats have no rips or tears
. Door panels are perfect. Dash is perfect. Cargo area is nice and clean. Leather seats are still soft with only minor wear on driver's seat. Headliner just starting to sag in the back. Above average interior.
ELECTRICAL STUFF: All inspection items work except horn. The fuel guage works, but is really on empty when it reads about 1/8 tank (found this out the hard way.) Power windows and locks work, aftermarket keyless entry with two fobs works, aftermarket am/fm CD works, but power antenna does not. Cruise and rear defroster work. A/C is still R12 and needs a charge or conversion to R134. There's still about 15 lbs of pressure there, so it's not leaking. Compressor is free and you can feel it pump turning by hand.
DRIVEABILITY: Drives out GREAT. Steering is tight and straight and suspension is tight. Brakes work well with about 30% life remaining. Tires are older but in good shape have about 50% tread remaining on a matched set of good quality radials. Check engine light is not lit (except at start up as it should) under normal operation, but in drive with idle low, it'll come on, but go out immediately when you touch the gas. Not on when in partk. Normally with a car that runs and drives this well I'd say "drive anywhere" but this being an older French car and sitting for two years, I'd recommend trailering.
