Overview Of Entire Vehicle: *Condition #3 (Rare Beautiful Driver)

This is a beautiful 1956 Packard 400 2-Door Hardtop in excellent condition inside and out. We recently purchased this car out of a high-end collection of a large estate in Las Vegas. The car has been in storage in the garage of a 10 million dollar house for the last several years. When we purchased the car with several others we went through the car from front to back mechanically so it runs and drives excellent. The car was part of the gentleman's collection for several years. It appears to have received a restoration several years ago but has held up very nicely. It is a little bit of an older restoration but it is still in beautiful condition as it hasn't really been used that much. The car shows to be a southwest car all its life as it is completely and totally rust-free with a super straight body and excellent fit and finish throughout. It is finished in a gorgeous Cobalt Blue and White with excellent chrome and trim throughout. The interior has been redone in all OEM materials in the correct black cloth and white leather. It is a very rare car as it is equipped with factory air conditioning which is almost unheard of on a 1956 Packard. In fact we have never seen one with factory air conditioning before. It comes with a set of Kelsey Hayes chrome wire wheels that look just amazing on the car wrapped in wide white wall radial tires. This is a real beauty and extremely rare car as its the last year for the 400 and one of only 3,224 ever built.

Exterior: *Condition #3

The exterior of this 1956 Packard is in excellent condition and shows wonderfully. As we said before it is a little older restoration probably done in the last 10 years but you can tell it has been a very clean and straight car. It has a beautiful paint job in striking Cobalt Blue and White that looks fantastic. This car did have a color change for full disclosure and was originally painted in Maltese Gray but the blue is real pretty. All of the chrome is in amazing condition. We think it has all been redone during the restoration because it is almost too nice to be original. All the emblems are gold like they are supposed to be and look fantastic. All the lenses are crystal clear and in excellent condition. All the trim looks amazing and overall the car is a very presentable appearance. The fit and finish on the car is excellent. All the glass appears to be in great condition. The windshield does appear to have a little de-lamination in the top left corner but is hardly noticeable. It is sitting on a set of beautiful Kelsey Hayes chrome wire wheels wrapped in wide white wall radial tires. The car is super straight down the sides and has always been a southwest car as it is 100% rust-free. The shows beautifully and is sure to be an eye catcher at any car show or event.

Interior: *Condition #3

The interior of this car shows wonderfully. It is in excellent condition and they did a beautiful job when they redid the upholstery. It is all OEM correct with the correct fabric and white leather. The seats, door panels and even headliner were all done correct and show amazing. The black carpet is correct and is excellent as well. All the trim and chrome brightwork appears to be original and in very good shape which shows how well this car was taken care of throughout its life. The dash and gauge cluster is very bright and clean. the steering wheel is very nice with no cracks and looks great. The dash pad appears to have been redone and looks superb. All the emblems are in great shape. All the door jambs are nice and clean and the rubbers are all in good shape. The A/C is all there but we believe it needs serviced. The horn, clock and wipers do not work and seems to be the case with most of these Packards. Everything else including the courtesy lights, dual power antennas, heater/defroster, and radio work as they should. Inside the trunk is very nice and clean with a matching Kelsey Hayes chrome wire spare wheel and wide white wall tire. The trunk material appears to be all original and in very nice condition. All the weather stripping is great and is still soft and supple. Overall the interior of this Packard shows very well and looks amazing.

Mechanically: *Condition #3

Mechanically the car is in really good shape and drives great. When we purchased the car it had been sitting for several years so we went through it front to back on maintenance. All the fluids have been changed, fuel pump replaced, the gas tank flushed out, a new battery installed, went through the brakes, and did a full thorough check out on the car. Anything that needs to be done with a car thats been sitting for awhile was performed. It is in really good running and driving condition. The self-leveling suspension appears to all be there but does not appear to be functioning but a lot of people tend to disconnect it as they suffer from problems and you don't need it on these cars.

Under Carriage: *Condition #3+

The underside of this Packard is extremely free and totally 100% rust-free. The front suspension is very nice. The bushings appear to be a little worn but overall are in good shape and don't need any work right now. It does have all new shocks, a new gas tank which was cleaned out and a brand new dual exhaust system on it.

Under full disclosure this Packard was mistakingly titled as a 1955 Packard years ago. We are in the process of trying to correct that mistake and to have it reassigned a correct title with a 1956 year. We are not guaranteeing this will be resolved but we are attempting to do so ourselves.
