Car description

1986 TVR 280i S2, 23917 miles - believed to be original miles (rubber pedal pads still have TVR on them which would indicate low mileage). Overall the car shows very well and is a good 8/10 (10 being the best) in condition. Exterior paint is an older respray with a few imperfections - some dust on the trunk lid, a little blemishing below the gas flap and a little blemishing on the nose but overall still in nice condition. Convertible top is in good condition with no rips and the rear window is clear. The interior is excellent. USA spec'd cars came with a vinyl interior, leather seat fronts and bottoms, leather shifter gaiter and a leather handbrake gaiter. All the leather is soft. Seats are crack and rip free. There is a small imperfection of the vinylthattrims the inside of the A post on the passenger side. I believe this was a result of windscreen replacement work.Dashboard veneer is original and in nice condition. The aluminium bezels around the gauges were custom handmade in England. The rear speakers on the parcel shelf are believed to have been installed in the late 80s. They are working but after 30 years the sound is not the best. All electrics are working with exception of the radio antenna. The stereo is modern with Bluetooth capabilities. The car was originally fitted with A/C but this has been removed. Not necessary in a car like this in my opinion but all the components come with the car if you feel you want to reinstall it. The car has a solid chassis, I'm sure as a result from spending time in Arizona and California . When I first got the car I removed the sills/rocker panels and inspected the outriggers, these were good and solid. I have owned the car for 3.5 years and during that time I have replaced the brake master-cylinder, rebuilt the front brake calipers, installed a new fuel accumulator, replacedall the injectors, installed a new steering rack. I also found some original OEM Koni dampeners- ultra rare. The original cat located under the oil sump has been removedand replaced with two high flow cats at the rear. I am a fanatic about my cars and keep up with all the maintenance regardless. The oil and coolant get changed every year, along with a chassis grease at the start of the driving season. Always garaged. The Bosch injection system is working well and the car starts with no issues, makes good power, drives straight and doesn't have any overheating issues.
The car really is great fun to drive. Due to the steep rake of the windshield you get very little buffeting from the wind and it does make a good noise. Car currently needs no work to be driven and enjoyed.
Please be mindful that this is a 30 year old hand-builtlow volume British sports car.
l am happy to answer any questions. Thank you for looking.
AutoCheck comes back with a 55 rating due to mileage records. Looking at the records, it appears that when it was smogged in CA the testing station mistakingly added an extra digit.
