1929 Chevrolet Series AC International 1.5-ton Truck Description

1929 Chevrolet Series AC International 1.5-ton Truck

Truck cab with a wooden produce bed 194 CID inline six-cylinder engine Three-speed manual transmission Cream over copper exterior Dark brown interior Cream-colored solid disc wheels Swing-out windshield 131-inch wheelbase

This truck has the potential to be as sweet as the produce it used to carry. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present this 1929 Chevrolet Series AC International 1.5-ton Truck. This particular example was made at GM’s Leeds factory in Kansas City, Missouri. It was the 940th example built that year. This awesome and seldom seen canopy truck underwent a restoration some years ago and shows well over all and starts easily with an electric starter.

The cream over copper paint is in overall great condition, as is the rubberized roof for the cab and the wooden produce section over the bed. The truck’s glass panels, including its unique swing-out windshield, are in better-than-average condition while the truck’s lights, including the driver’s side only taillight, are in satisfactory shape. The black front bumper is in decent order.

The former fruit and veggie hauler rolls on distinctive cream, solid disc wheels surrounded by Firestone 7.00-20 HD truck-bus tires in back and Dunlop Cord 32×6 tires in front. The wheels all look good while the tires are in mediocre to satisfactory order, however it comes with 4 new tires and new inner tubes for replacement. The wooden produce section of the chassis is in overall very good condition.

Under the vee’d hood is a 194 CID inline six-cylinder engine, which was billed as The Six for the Price of a Four and the Stovebolt Six. It is mated to a four-speed manual transmission, pulls strong in 1st and 2nd, but 3rd & 4th tends to bog down, may need carb adjusted.

Inside, the dark brown bench seat with a low back cushion is in excellent shape. There is no carpet in this work truck; instead, it has a wooden floor. The wooden headliner looks fantastic while the four-spoke wooden steering wheel (with cracks) sports a wood rim and also looks great. The instrument panel and inner doors are in satisfactory order, odometer and lights are inop. The shifter is in decent order while the interior windows have beautiful wood framing. There is no radio in this vehicle.

The 1929 light trucks had more rectangular radiators, fewer louvers at the rear side of the hood, bullet-shaped headlights and full-crowned fenders.

Competition to this Chevrolet in 1929 included Ford’s Model AA truck, the Chrysler’s Fargo Packet.

Whether you want to add to your classic truck collection, use it to advertise you business or if you seek a unique conversation piece, this ’29 Chevy more than fits the bill. Stop by MotoeXotica Classic Cars today and check it out for yourself.

This truck is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 23,363 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
