Car description

This one owner car was purchased new by my uncle from Fletcher Lincoln Mercury Bricklin in 1974. I am listing it on his behalf. The car was originally titled to his business and subsequently transferred to his name personally when he retired. Serial number is 0291. Over the years he kept track of the maintenance and had it serviced regularly regardless of the mileage.

Included with the car is a file folder with the history and related paperwork.

In July of 2000 the car was shipped to Virginia where the doors were converted by Terry Tanner, owner of Bricklin Parts of Virginia. He installed the pneumatic air door system. Both doors open instantly to their full opening height and close just as quickly and surely. Terry serviced the car when he converted the doors. I believe he is the former Bricklin factory production engineer.

Engine starts right up idles smoothly. The car tracks straight. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and properly, everything including the air conditioning works.

The car has power steering, power disc brakes, tilt steering wheel, AM/FM stereo, rear defogand gull wing doors that open at a touch of a button.Everything seems to be in working order.

The interior condition is very nice but not perfect. The carpet is faded in spots but shows very little wear for being 43 years old.

Seats, door trim panels, dash and rear cargo area are all nice. The carpet should probably be replaced due to fading. All gauges work.

Acrylic body panels are original and have typical fit and finish.

The door jambs could use a respray, some chips and paint wear in the interior sill area. The engine compartment is original, neat and in-molested.

Bricklins were low in production, ahead of their time and are now an undervalued bargain.

The 351 Ford engine and transmission make for a no-stress ownership with parts readily available.

Body panels and interior components are all still available, with many parts listed for sale on eBay.

This car will attract attention. Lots of attention. Take it to a car show and you'll be mobbed by the curious.

Car has a clean NJ title, Original owner's manual, original dealer paperwork, maintenance history, past registrations and literature. The vehicle is currently garaged and covered at my home in central NJ.
