Car description

1957 Oldsmobile 88 2 door hardtop. 21900 miles. 371ci v8. automatic transmission. The motor runs good but has a lifter ticking and a few exhaust leaks also rear main seal is leaking. There is a custom cam slightly over stock in it and a newer tri power with progressive linkage on it. The transmission shifted hard out of first gear but smoothly through the rest of the gears the last time I drove it a few years ago. Car sat for almost 20 years in the original owners driveway. then my father bought it in the late 90's. When he got it the floors . rockers and doors were rotted out. He replaced all with metal. but at the time replacement panels were not available. so the rockers and door skins are from a 57 Chevy and were cut up to fit. The floor was done in a heavy gauge steel and skimmed in bondo to cover seems. The rest of the body is very solid with only a few rot spots. The trunk floor is solid except for spare tire hole. I got the car in 2007 when my dad passed away and drove it a lot til around 2011 since then it has been stored mostly indoors and started regularly. I just pulled it out of my brothers garage today to take pictures of it and the brakes didn't work. I did not look into why. The interior needs work. has no headliner but all pieces are there to put a new one in. The seats in it are from a 57 98 we got for parts and don't quite fit right. I do have original seats for it but there rough. I have a new carpet for it still in a box. The chrome either needs to be redone or drive the way it is. Most of the chrome looks presentable except the rear bumper which is spray painted aluminum color. I have most of the stainless trim pieces in the trunk. Aside from the 57 olds 98 we stripped we also had a 57 olds super 88 4 door we stripped out. That said I have a lot of random parts to go with it. Most of which is in the trunk and back seat. This is most defiantly a project. but a very good start to one. The suspension will need to be worked on. it's all original parts from what I can tell. The brakes and lines were done years ago and may need to be done again. The gas tank seems solid but one strap broke so it's ratchet strapped up. Drivers side door glass is cracked. est is good. Tires are junk but will hold air. The frame is solid. Clean ma title in hand. I'm planning to move out of state soon and can't bring it with me. I would hate to see it sit longer. Please message me any questions. leave a number. best time to call and I'll call you ASAP if you prefer.
