Car description

Attention comrades the series may be over but the legacy could still live on in your driveway. Now is your chance to have one of the largest screen used props from the hit show ''The Americans''. This 1977 Oldsmobile Delta 88 Royale was the main screen used family car driven by the main characters Elizabeth & Phillip Jennings for the duration of the show. This is a very well known character car making many frequent appearances as the Jennings drove it through their six season run. Its a very interesting and iconic piece to the show after making its first appearance in the intro of the first episode tearing through the streets of D.C.
Drivetrain
The Delta is powered by an Olds Rocket 350 with a 4 barrel. I believe its still retaining its original engine and transmission. The only modification to the car is the A/C was converted over to R134a. The motor runs smooth and quiet as it should. It doesn't smoke burn or have any issues. The carburetor is dialed in very nicely with no hesitation and always starts rite up. The brakes are good and quiet and transmission shifts like new. The same can also be said for the steering, its responsive and tracks nicely down the road. I've personally driven the car numerous times on the highway and ran it around locally it have no complaints. Its very fun to drive especially when accelerating from low speed when merging or getting on the highway it has the same sound you hear from the show when the secondaries open up on the carb. It always brings a smile to my face
Interior The inside of the car hasn't been touched since its last day on set. I believe a parking permit may still be laying around. There's even a couple wrappers and a water bottle under the seat leftover from the craft services table. A small amount of what appears to be fake blood is on the cigarette lighter. However you'll find much more still splattered on the bottom the trunk lid as seen in the photograph. It wipes off easy but I thought I'd leave since its part of the cars history. Looking around the car i still find pieces of gaffers tape and little things leftover from the different departments involved in the show. Exterior We looked it over pretty well it doesn't appear to have been in any major accidents or have any repairs. It looks like it still is holding onto its original paint. It looks like the driver door was removed and reinstalled for a camera shot and the windshield has been in and out a few times but that's all. As far as damage the car is dented in the right rear door when Elizabeth (Kerri Russel) kicked it shut in the first episode. The hood is also scuffed where Phillip (Mathew Rhys) runs over it in the first episode. The top of the front bumper was dulled with some spray to avoid reflections. All the cars trim and is straight and intact so its complete and clean. The floors and frame as well as the rest of the body is very clean. I had it up on a lift and no holes or rot was anywhere to be found. Under the car as you can see in the photos the car has camera rigging mounted to it. This does not interfere with drive-ability although you should still remain conscious that your loosing a couple inches of ground clearance. The rigging is easy to remove and my guy told me he can easily pull it off but I thought it was an interesting part of the cars history and makes a good conversation piece so we left it. Overall this is a nice low mile original car.
Documentation The Oldsmobile comes with a clean NJ title in my name ready to be transferred. It also comes with a photocopy of the title from the production that used the car along with a certificate of authenticity from Fox.
The back-up car I also own the backup car that was used in a couple crash scenes and repaired. The backup car I have was also used in some scenes in the the last couple seasons. Its basically the same as this car minus the pinstripes and power windows. In interest in keeping the pair together I'm offering this back-up vehicle to the winning bidder of this car at a negotiable price under %50 of the price of the main car. Its not likely the second car will be listed here. We may throw it into the fleet we have for other future film projects. Back-up vehicle also includes a clean NJ title in my name and a certificate of authenticity.
Payment and Transport By winning this auction you are obligated and committing yourself to the purchase of the listed vehicle Bid with confidence, if you are the high bidder of the auction you will be expected to leave a full non refundable deposit within 48 hours. The vehicle must be paid for in full before I release it or the title. You can pay cash or send me a check. If you send a check the car and the title will not leave my possession until it is cleared. The highest bid is non negotiable and the time to see the vehicle or have it inspected if desired is before you buy it. At the point of which the auction ends the vehicle will need to be picked up in 30 days.
