Car description

1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 Convertible Restomod
Vehicle is being sold at No Reserve and a starting bid of $30,000. As you read below you will notice how much money in parts alone went into this project. I understand you are never going to get back what you put into a project . Its time for something else to finish her up. If you are trying to compare a normal 442 convertible to this car than you are comparing apples and oranges. In my opinion we have made this car more fun to drive, more dependable, and better mpg's & way faster than the original. This car will "chip" 3 gears and the final tune is not even done on the car.
Yes Oldsmobile made automatic 442's 1965-1967. This car started life as a low option 442 convertible non a/c car.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO PULL UP TO YOUR NEXT CRUISE NIGHT AND HAVE SOMETHING DIFFERENT THIS IS IT! YOU NEVER SEE THIS CAR AND WHEN YOU DO, YOU SEE 2 AT A CAR SHOW AND THE ONLY THING DIFFERENT BETWEEN THE 2 ARE THE PAINT COLORS.
The reason I am showing you all the pricing that goes into doing a LS swap is because the average car guy sees ads for $6k - $8k to do a swap. And as this is true you are getting a smaller 4.8 or 5.3 with over 100k miles on it! The engine is not getting the proper Cooling from original radiator and it's a basic stand alone harness. The price just goes up from there. I have chosen to rebuild a bigger Ls1 5.7 engine with much better upgraded parts to sound and perform how I wanted it for this application so more money was spent to have this vehicle driving for years to come. It is time for something new so this must go. I am in no rush to sell as a lot of time and effort went into building this vehicle.
Vehicle has about 300 miles on it since being put together.

ADDITIONAL LABOR & small parts here and there$1800 grand total of $32,280.94 in high quality parts. That's not including the price of an original 1967 442 convertible roller would be worth if you bought it $7-10k? THERE IS A LOT OF MONEY IN THIS CAR AND YOU COULD NOT BUILD THIS CAR FOR WHAT I AM ASKING.
Paint: Paint is 20 yrs. old! It is a good driver quality paint not a show quality. It presents it self well but still has it flaws. Some scratches, chips etc here and there, some swirl marks but still shines well as shown in pics. Car was originally red, blown apart and repainted black. The last picture shows the car as a roller and you can have a greater appreciation for how everything was purchased new.
History: Always a South Carolina / Georgia car with clean and clear GEORGIA 442 title in my name. Vehicle only had roughly 65k miles on body/chassis.
Cons: I am going to be completely honest here as if I was buying a car online. Vehicle only has about 300 miles since being put together from a roller. With that being said there are still some things that need to be worked out. When driving the vehicle there are a few squeaks here and there as things are settling and need to be tighten up ( i.e squeak in dash etc). Computer needs final tune and fuel trim levels and air levels adjusted as it is running rich( check engine light on from running rich). I did not get final tune until Dakota Digital dash was installed as the computer controls the rpm's on dash. Everything works on digital dash except rpm', tune will take care of that. Convertible top frame was recently installed and now needs vent windows, and front and rear windows aligned to top to seal completely. The windows will cost about $100- $200 to get adjusted and computer tune $300. I will say that this vehicle runs, drives and cruises at 70 Mph with no problems. Original trunk lock recently was removed and will come with the vehicle. If there is anything else I am missing feel free to ask me more pictures or question you might have. I have tons of pics during the build.
Closing: All in all this is a cool car. Gets tons of attention everywhere I go and rare as only 3,080 convertibles were produced. It is not perfect but a cool driver for years to come.
Warranty: Vehicle is being sold where is as is condition and no current warranty is implied with sale. Buyer's are free to inspect the vehicle at any time. I reserve the right to end the auction early as it 'stands getting tons of attention at local car shows and cruise nights. Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. I would suggest an enclosed trailer since windows are not sealed to convertible top.
A non refundable $500 deposit required within 24 hours of auction close. Rest of funds due within 3 days of auction close by certified check, cash, or bank transfer.
