Car description

1965 OLDSMOBILE F-85 DELUXE (LIKE A CUTLASS). IT IS AN ORIGINAL SURVIVOR CAR WITH 83,393 ON THE ODOMETER. 330 V8 WITH 2SPD AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. THE CAR CAME FULLY OPTIONED WITH POWER STEERING, OWER BRAKES, ND AIR CONDITIONING. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN OUR FAMILY FOR 10 YEARS AND WAS PURCHASED FROM THE ORIGINAL FAMILY WHO OWNED IT. THE CAR BELONGED TO THEIR GRANDMOTHER. IT HAD 59,000 WHEN WE GOT IT AND WE DID EVERYTHING NECESSARY TO GET THE CAR ROADWORTHY AND DEPENDABLE. WE HAVE PUT ALMOST 25,000 MILES ON IT SINCE DOING THAT. AND IN THAT TIME I HAVE KEPT THE CAR UP AND DONE SO MUCH MECHANICAL WORK, COULDN'T LIST ALL OF IT. IT STARTS RIGHT UP AND RUNS AND DRIVES VERY WELL. THE ENGINE RUNS SMOOTH AND THE TRANS SHIFTS WELL. I HAVE RECENTLY REPLACED THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND MASTER CYLINDER. IT ALSO HAS A NEW STARTER ON IT AND A RECENT TUNE UP. I USED IT AS MY PRIMARY VEHICLE FOR ALL OF 2013 AND MOST OF 2014 AND IT WAS A VERY DEPENDABLE RIDE. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO GO ANYWHERE AROUND TOWN IN IT. IT DOESN'T HAVE ANY MAJOR ISSUES, OWEVER IT DOES NEED SOME ATTENTION AS ANY 50 YEAR OLD CAR WOULD. THIS MAY SEEM LIKE A LONG LIST, UT I AM TRYING TO DISCLOSE ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING. THE BELTS/HOSES/ TIRES ARE OK, UT SHOWING SOME AGE AND WEAR. THE FRONT STEERING AND SUSPENSION ARE PROBABLY DUE FOR A REBUILD, N ALIGNMENT AT MINIMUM BECAUSE THE TIRES ARE WEARING ON THE OUTSIDE, ND THE HUBCAPS COME OFF. THE 4 CORE RADIATOR NEEDS THE SIDE PANELS TACKED BACK ON. IT DOESN'T LEAK, UT THE PERSON WHO REBUILT IT FOR US DIDN'T TACK THEM ON WELL. THE ENGINE AND TRANS HAVE SMALL SEEPS/ LEAKS, UT NO MAJOR QUART A WEEK LEAKS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. THE A/C AND HEATING IS ALL THERE WITH A NEW HEATER CORE AND CLEANED EVAPORATOR BUT IS NOT WORKING. THE RADIO WORKS BUT IS NOT HOOKED UP TO ANY SPEAKERS. THE GAS GAUGE WORKS SPORADICALLY. THE WIPERS WORK BUT THE SWITCH IS QUIRKY. THE TURN SIGNALS DON'T WORK ON THE LEFT SIDE, ND THE TAILLIGHTS SOMETIMES HAVE ISSUES. NOW ON TO THE BODY. THE HOOD/TRUNK/ DOORS AND WINDOWS ALL OPEN AND CLOSE LIKE THEY SHOULD. THE CAR LOOKS DECENT, UT THE PICTURES MAKE THE CAR LOOK BETTER. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE THE ZOOM IN FEATURE THAT EBAY OFFERS. THE PAINT IS NOT ORIGINAL, ND IT IS OLD AND CRACKING/CHIPPING/ BUBBLING AND MISSING IN CERTAIN AREAS. THE CAR DOES HAVE SOME RUST SPOTS AROUND THE FRONT AND BACK WINDOWS, N THE COWL/ PILLAR AREA, ND ON THE RIGHT QUARTER PANEL. I REPAIRED IT, UT NOT CORRECTLY, O STOP THE CAR FROM LEAKING WHEN IT RAINS. SOME WATER STILL COMES IN THE PASSENGER COWL AND GETS THE FLOOR WET ON THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE ONLY. THE FLOOR PANS WERE NOT BAD, ND I COVERED SOME OF THE PINHOLES IT HAD IN THEM. THE TRUNK FLOOR HAS RUST AS WELL AS A COUPLE SPOTS ON THE WEATHERSTRIP CHANNEL FOR THE TRUNK. THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR IS FAIRLY NICE. THE SEATS DON'T HAVE ANY TEARS AND LOOK GREAT. THE CARPET IS FAIRLY NEW BUT STAINED RIGHT FRONT. THE HEADLINER IS ALSO NEW, UT ISN'T TIGHT. I DID IT, ND BEING MY FIRST ONE, OULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED BETTER. ALL OF THE WINDLACE IS ORIGINAL AND SEEMS TO HAVE SHRUNK A LITTLE. THE PACKAGE TRAY WAS HOME MADE AND THE SAIL PANELS NOT PROPERLY INSTALLED. THE DOME LIGHT IS NOT HOOKED UP. THE DASH PAD HAS SOME CRACKS. THE DOOR PANELS ARE ORIGINAL. I KNOW WITH ALL MY HONESTY ABOUT THE CAR, T MAY SEEM LIKE A HUNK OF JUNK, UT IT JUST NEEDS SOME TLC. IT REALLY IS A FANTASTIC CAR THAT TURNS HEADS BECAUSE YOU DON'T SEE VERY MANY LIKE IT.
