WeLoveCoolCars. com 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000GTX G And S Motors LLC WeLoveCoolCars. com +1 828 654-3222 1971 Nissan KPGC10 Skyline H/T 2000GT-R THE HOLY GRAIL of Japanese cars! There is absolutely nothing in the world like driving an early Nissan Skyline. I spent months with a JDM expert. scouring Japan for the best of the best JDM cars. This GT-R was purchased from it's second owner. a very good friend of my Japanese connection. himself a former 24 hours of LeMans driver. I’ve owned this car for two years. The first time I saw this beautiful car in Japan. I was stunned by it’s originality! This GT-R is outstanding and extremely original. It has had one repaint in it’s original color. had the driver’s seat reupholstered to a very correct standard. had an antenna fitted to the passenger side rear quarter and currently sits on a set of period Watanabe rims. It previously had an aftermarket stereo fitted. which we’ve removed and which has left a space in the center console. The engine bay is beautifully original and you’ll notice the never-painted blue air cleaner. which is the color from new. Most were later painted red. due to the popularity of the Z432R and Kenmeri Skyline which sported red air cleaners. This GT-R also retains most of it’s original interior. it’s original steering wheel. shift knob. radio. owner’s manual and tools. I try not to make "this is the best in the world" claims about my cars. but this Hako will most likely be the most original example that you will ever have the chance to buy. It’s originality is breathtaking and just perfectly balanced with sympathetic cosmetic upkeep. You can search Japan for a very long time and never come across a car like this. The originality also adds to it’s driveability and solidity. They’re are never quite the same once they’ve been taken apart and put back together. I have had four. YES FOUR. PGC10 and KPGC10 Skyline GTR’s. I have also owned several JDM Z cars. including two Z432’s. which have this same S20 engine. My mechanics know how to tune. service and detail these magnificent cars. I have decided to limit my early JDM cars to one Skyline 2000GT-R. one Z432 and a Mazda Cosmo. My 1969 4-door Skyline is just a little bit more rare and a little bit closer to my heart than this 2 door hardtop. which is why I’ve decided to sell this car. This car will come to you ready to be driven and enjoyed. It's been serviced and sorted since I've owned it. The brakes. transmission. engine and electrics are all in good working order with no known or outstanding issues. It had a complete engine service in Japan approximately 3. 00 kilometers ago. This 1971 Skyline has a clean and clear Arizona title. so is NO PROBLEM TO REGISTER in any state INCLUDING CALIFORNIA. It comes with a set of tools. a jack. a spare tire and a VERY RARE Owners manual. > YOU CAN SEE A OVER 100 PICS BY CLICKING HERE < Why is this car worth $200. 00? Like so many cars from the 60s. 70s and 80s. the Nissan Skylines are iconic to a wide variety of collectors and enthusiasts who were exposed to them in their youth and teenage years. In the USA. we came to the party a little bit late and most of our earliest memories of the Skyline is the 80s version. Western collectors (like me) who’ve become exposed to these thrilling earlier machines have realized that these JDM cars belong in the same collections as Porsches. Ferraris and Jaguars of the same era. They might not have the fit and finish of a Jaguar. but the experience of driving a Skyline or Z432 along with the rarity. demand and history put it into the same collector tier as the Jags and Porsches. Nice examples of KPGC10 Skylines have consistently had prices in the mid $100’s. with recent sales beginning to surpass the $200k mark. just like it’s German and English counterparts. the early 911 and E-type. In many markets. the emphasis on top tier collector cars was the “restored” car. but recent years have seen a shift to a serious demand for “preservation class” or “survivor” cars. Although this is also my preference. the western collector market of JDM cars doesn’t yet have the exposure to the real original cars and it seems that shiny is better at the moment. “Original” Skylines are rare anywhere. I’ve been traveling Japan and buying these cars for several years now. with access to amazing private collections. and I count on one hand the cars which I would class as predominantly original. Japanese car culture can be likened to the American car culture of the 60’s and 70’s. where customization and modification are encouraged and celebrated. KPGC10-000381 is a very original car. In fact. I’ve only seen one extremely low mile example which I could class as more original than this one. I was offered that car and before I could buy it. it sold for 300. 00. 00 yen ($250. 00). That was a “one-off” though. It was one owner with less than 20. 00 kilometers and PERFECT. Many of you will be aware of the Skyline GTR which sold at Monterey last year for an “all in” cost to the buyer of $242. 00. That was my car. It was a very nice restoration of what had been a great car to begin with. I’d purchased that car along with a very rare 69 Skyline GTR 4door. which I wanted to add to my collection. It was always my intention to sell that 2door at a high profile auction and establish these cars on the worldwide market as a serious collectible. Following the sale of my Skyline. the Toyota 2000GT and the Mazda Cosmo during the auctions at Monterey/Pebble Beach last year. the New York Times wrote "2014 might be remembered as the year when Japanese collectibles came of age. ” So. maybe it worked! I understand that one auction result does not establish a market price. but I also know what really great. authentic Skyline GTRs sell for. The Skyline for sale here is not a "restored" car and not as shiny as the Monterey car and I therefore think it's slightly less desirable to this growing Western market. So. I've priced it below the Monterey car. although to me. it’s more valuable. ADDED VALUE This Skyline has a period Sport Corner plate in the engine bay. indicating that it had service history from Tokyo Sport Corner. This is a BIG plus for the serious enthusiast. It also has it’s original owner’s manual. which is very rare. The old and wrinkled GTROC decal in the rear window in an indication of long-term enthusiast ownership. like seeing an old “PCA" badge in as early Porsche 911. Also. this car is already here! It’s in the USA and titled. You will spend a lot of time and money trying to find a car like this on your own in Japan. Brief history of the first generation Skylines The first GT-R was launched in February 1969 as a four-door sedan (type PGC10). It was powered by the race-derived S20 engine. which featured dual overhead camshafts. a cross-flow head with four valves per cylinder. and a hemispherical combustion chamber fed by triple dual-throat Mikuni-Solex side-draft carburetors. A two-door coupe version (KPGC10). known as the Hardtop or H/T. would debut in October 1970 and ultimately be introduced to the public in March 1971. It is believed that only 1. 13 GT-R Coupes were produced between 1970 and 1972. Nissan stripped the GT-R down to its bare essentials. as they intended to conquer the Japanese Grand Prix series. and conquer they did. The PGC10 and KPGC10 Hakosuka Skylines racked up an indomitable 46 straight and outright class wins and more than 50 overall wins over a three-year run. cementing the GT-R legend. Two KPGC10 Skyline GT-R's battle it out in the 1971 Japan GP (not the actual car for sale) Specifications for the KPGC10 Skyline Engine Type: Inline-6 (S20); cast-iron block and aluminum head Valvetrain: DOHC 4-valves/cyl.
