Car description

This 1989 R32 GTST Type-M (HCR32-019058) was imported from Japan in the summer of 2016 and titled, registered, and insured in November of 2016. It was imported under the "25 year rule" and includes EPA/DOT release forms as well as a certified translation of the export certificate. It even includes original brochures/documents from the previous owner in Japan. This Skyline is good to go, with all legal documents in order.

Specs

This GTST Type-M comes with Nismo front suspension, HICAS, Apex'i intake, custom exhaust (very nice subdued sound and quality install), Blitz R-Vit Type-II (plug-n-play and great for showing mph), HID kit, and aftermarket shift knob and steering wheel. Since receiving the car, a brand new Optima Yellow Top battery was installed along with a full set of brand new Goodyear tires which all received precision alignment (about $900 invested). An HKS Turbo Timer is included but not installed (the currently installed turbo timer doesn't work and is disconnected). This all in addition to the factory power windows, power folding mirrors, and other luxury features (for a 1989).

Engine/Transmission

The engine runs great and has a new timing belt and water pump (as of about 254000km). The engine starts without issue and holds a steady idle. The turbo spools quick and holds boost. The turbo and bypass valve sound defined and sporty through the Apex'i intake. The transmission shifts well and the car drives well. The only negative is there is a grinding/clicking noise when turning at very low speeds once the car has been driven for about 10-15 minutes from a cold start but not sure what it is.

Interior

Since the car was recently imported, it was also recently detailed and cleaned. The interior and undercarriage of this car are in amazing shape, especially for a car of this age. The interior has a full set of floor mats. There is a cigarette burn in the passenger seat and looks like one on the passenger roof liner, otherwise the interior is in great shape. The dash is clean and looks practically new. I haven't confirmed if the AC works, but the climate control unit turns on and properly controls all air functions. The radio plays, but haven't tested the tape player.

Exterior

The exterior arrived pretty filthy after the long journey from Japan to Savannah, GA to Rock Hill, SC. While detailing the exterior, the paint proved to be fair/good except for the roof and trunk lid which had significant scoring/swirls. Once detailing was completed, the imperfections are far less noticeable (see close up pics at link below). Other than that, there are a few scratches and dings on the car, but nothing more than might be expected for a 1989 car with this many miles. There is a paint chip and there appears to have been some patchwork on the trunk lid underneath the spoiler, likely from a previously installed spoiler. The spoiler has some scratches/chips. The rear Nissan and GTST decals are partially missing/faded. There is some clear coat peeling on the taillights. There is some scuffing on the bumpers and side skirts. The headlights are in amazing condition, crystal clear and look brand new. The car has been driven in the rain without any sign of water leaking in and the wipers work great. The wheels are scuffed around the lips, cosmetic only. The tires are brand new. Overall, the car looks great (see pics), but does evidence some wear and tear up close. I think the pics tell the same story.
