1990 Classic Mini Cooper RSP

I imported this Classic Mini from the UK 2 years ago. It is 1 of 1500 Cooper RSP's built. The RSP was a special build between Rover and John Cooper to bring back the Mini Cooper name which had been absent from the Rover line up for a number of years. It is the last Mini Cooper to have the carburetor engine before moving to fuel injection. Due to this it is often regarded as the most collectible and sought after year for the Mini Cooper.
The Mini runs and drives well. It is fitted with an upgraded Janspeed cylinder head, exhaust manifold and exhaust which gives it a power increase over the standard set-up. The interior is in good condition. It does have some rust on the body and has got to the point where it needs a body restoration. The door hinge mounting points for the drivers door are the worst affected area and the door drops when opened. The good news is that all panels are readily available and are cheap to buy. It would be a relatively easy rebuild for a competent welder. With some body restoration and a repaint this will be a highly desirable and collectible vehicle. It is also extremely good fun to drive and makes a good noise with the Janspeed camshaft and sports exhaust.
The Mini has a clean and clear New York title and is currently registered and on the road. It is located in Hewlett, Long Island just outside Queens.Priced to sell, low reserve.
