1970/1974 MGB

Note : The VIN plate on the car and and the title are both for a 1970 year vehicle. It has been titled and registered in this manner for as far back as we can determine in 2 different states. We've been in contact with the 3 previous owners and they all have used the title and registration in the form in which it is being offered. It has never been an issue. We are offering the car on consignment for a long time customer (has owned the car for 8 years) and in preparing the car we noticed features of this car that were not consistent with a 1970 MG - It has a later dash, lacks the split rear bumpers of 1970. The grill of the car is for an earlier year.The VIN tag on the car and the title both reflect the numbers indicated above. The engine serial number is 18V6732-L3794 which is appropriate for a 1974 year car. The commission tag of G23N094398 is also appropriate for the 1974 year. The engine compartment contains the bracket for an air pump and a carbon canister used in 1974 year cars for emissions requirements.
That said, this is a very solid, good running, reliable car. It starts, runs, drives and stops as it should . The underside is clean. The rockers seem to have been replaced quite a long while ago. They were not done by the last 3 owners of the car It was purchased for use by the owner while he was restoring his other MG, a 1952 TD. He has finished that car however his health has deteriorated to the point he is no longer able to drive so he has asked us to help him sell his cars.
The car has a nice, newer top. The interior is in good condition. The seats are not worn or torn. The door card on the drivers side could stand replacement.
