Car description

See all the attached photos below this written description. This car was a stalled project for the previous owner. It has been in dry storage for over 25 years. The body work was well done and the paintwork is quite nice. New floors were welded in at the time the work was done. The car is rust free. The front suspension bushings are new and the road springs and shocks were replaced. The rear suspension bushings are new. The rear springs were re-arc'd and reassembled with new pads and new mounting perches and hardware. The rear wheel bearings were replaced and the rear brakes are new.The rear shocks are new The fuel tank has been boiled out. There is a new negative earth SU fuel pump. The rear bumper and overriders are new from NTG which is a firm in England that offers lots of reproduction parts for this car. There is another UK company called MG Specs that also offers a lot of parts for Magnettes. Much of the driveline does cross over to MGA-MGB stuff and there is a good owners group in this country which is a good source for parts and technical advice and help. The original engine was the same as the 1500 MGA and an 1500, or 1600 MGA engine or 1800 MGB engine will fit with little modification, the MGA gearbox is a bolt in and a MGB gearbox can be adapted to fit. The trunk chrome latch holder / license plate lamp / reverse lamp is a new unit. The five tires are new. The front bumper and overriders are new, there is a new set of driving fog lamps that mount onto the front bumper over-riders. Currently the bonnet has painted hinges, there is a set of re-chromed hinges included. The front brakes have been converted to disk brakes, the calipers are new. The master brake /clutch cylinder has been re-sleeved and rebuilt. There is a new clutch slave cylinder. Three new stainless steel braided brake flex lines are supplied as well as new copper hard lines. There is a new cloth braided wiring harness for the car with all of the sections included including the stator tube portion, the steering column mounted stator switch assembly for the horn and turn signals seems good. The Mahogany dashboard is disassembled and has been refinished. There are all of the electrical switches with it. There is a full set of four new exterior door handles from NTG along with the new horizontal exterior door trim. The drivers door lock cylinder is missing and a correct ignition switch is needed. All of the door glass is out and supplied and there is new track guide rubbers, new rear quarter light seals and new window sweeps. Front vent window seals are needed. The windshield and rear window are out and in good shape and there is new body rubber for both of them. There is a new trunk lid seal. There is a ton of misc pieces of rubber for the car, most of it in NTG packaging with the part numbers on them to figure out what they are for. The rear seat definitely need recovering and re-stuffing but the frame and backing are good to make a solid start. The front seats are leather need re-stuffing but the leather seems supple enough and the stitching in good enough condition that a competent upholsterer should be able to re-use the leather coverings.I supplied many detail shots of the seats to see. The radiator has been boiled out. All the gauges are supplied and we think the speedo was repaired. The clock has a new mounting escutcheon. There is an original Workshop manual and a re-print of the Service-Parts List. I tried to photograph all of the parts accurately. There are a couple more boxes of parts too un-interesting to photograph, brackets and metal bits and a bunch of hardware most of it unsorted and unorganized. The door panels are good for patterns only and there is a box of old carpet for patterns. Excepting for the driveline most all of the major parts are there. There will be small bits missing. Currently the cowl scuttle door is missing and I have one coming. If I missed anything don't be afraid to ask questions.
