What makesit so rare you ask?

Well this beautiful car was restored top to bottom to original specifications. The engine, transmission, and rear axle, along with all the brakeswere rebuilt or replaced. The convertible top and side windows are all original. Nothing but the finest people restored this beauty. The odometer shows 58043 original miles ( 58043miles divided by 67 years old= 866 miles per year)but I have only put approximately 300 miles on the MG since the restoration. You will not find a nicer MG-TD anywhere in the world.

As mentioned, you are looking at a very rare 67 year old MG-TD that is in BETTER THAN NEW. This car has original floor panels, plus original fenders, doors, quarter panels, convertible top and side screens, hood, and rocker panels. This is an uncut body that has structural integrity.

This beautiful sports car was restored by one of the finest in Pittsburgh, Ken’s Classic Car Restoration.

ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, REAR END, AND BRAKING:

Engine:

The original 4 cylinder engine was totally rebuilt by one of the finest engine builders Boffo Engine builders. Just recently I was having trouble with the SU carburetors and I took the car to Boffo who totally rebuilt them and now the car is running perfect. THE PICTURES SHOW THE OLD BATTERY. I NOW HAVE A BRAND NEW BATTERY IN THE CAR and to save the batteryfrom draining its CCA,I have installed screw disconnect on one of the battery terminals.

Transmission:

Behind the motor is the original 4 speed transmission. This transmission was totally rebuilt to include new clutch.

Rear End:

The rear axle was taken apart and anything that was worn or bad was replaced. The drive shaft was replaced and the original kept for emergencies. That spare one goes with the sale.

Braking:

All of the brakes were rebuilt and all the copper brake lines are brand new. Included in the sale is the extra copper brake line that I have.

EXTERIOR:

It is amazing what a $10,000 paint job will do for the MG-TD. The color is MG Red and it goes great with the red leather interior.

Review the 82 pictures of the exterior of this beautiful car and you will see no corners were cut in restoring this car. This laser straight body was painted with "Top of The Line" PPG paint. The paint alone cost $2210 (Base=$1220/gallon, Mid-Coat=$490/gallon= $490 and Clear Coat=$520/gallon). As mentioned above, this car has all the original body parts and only has little finishing putty in it. All of the CHROME IS NEW OR REPLATED.

INTERIOR:

Look at the 54 pictures of this beautiful RED ALL LEATHER SEATS AND DOOR PANELS. The WOOD STEERING WHEEL IS ORGINAL BUT WAS RESTORED TO IT ORIGINAL BEAUTY.

The DASH IS MADE OF REAL BURYL WOOD. For your safety SEAT BELTS were installed.

To monitor the engine, you have a complete set of restored factory gauges, to include speedometer, tachometer (which includes a clock that we were not able to get to work), temp, oil and amp.I am also including in the sale a wood dial rod as a gas gauge to tell you how much gas is in your tank. The dash also has a ignition warning light and a fuel warning light (tells you when you gas is down to 3 gallons) I run the car on BP 87 octane gasoline. BP is the old Amoco gas.In the glove box is the Original OPERATION MANUAL PLUS AN ORIGINAL MAINTENANCE MANUAL.

The convertible top and side windows are all original. Behind the seats is the SUNSCREEN STOWAGE COMPARTMENT to store the SUNSCREENS. Also behind the seat is the original jack.

UNDERNEATH:

As you can see when you look at the 43 pictures, you CAN EAT off the underside it is so clean.

The first thing you will notice is the underneath is just like it came off the showroom floor in 1951. Notice that the underneath fenders are painted MG red just like the top. The exhaust, brake lines, mufflers, electrical is brand new.
