Car description

This beautiful, British Racing Green 1966 MGB has been my faithful daily driver since I bought her on EBay 3 years ago. My dad and I completed a partial body restoration on her in my garage and she has been smiling ever since. Her title was already salvaged when I bought her, so I can only speculate as to her past life based upon the dents we smoothed out and the coats of paint we sanded away, but I could literally feel her thanking me with each coat of fresh paint we applied! She is NOT showroom status (upon close-up inspection, there are rust spots emerging, zip ties here and there and even a binder clip securing an interior trim piece for the time being) but she is GUARANTEED to turn heads whilst zipping around town! An eye-catcher for sure! I absolutely LOVE DRIVING THIS CAR!!!! It is special and unique.

But alas, I am moving to Hawaii and cannot take her with me. The constant humidity and salty air would rust her to pieces.

There are 3 qualifications for owning this car:

-You must believe that driving can be fun!

-You must be able to hold conversations with random strangers in the streets

-You must enjoy tinkering on classic engines

She is over 50 years old, so even though she is in fantastic running condition, there will almost always be something you can tweak or tinker on. The cosmetic items mentioned earlier can either be lived with or dealt with depending on how perfect you would want to make her. As I said, she takes me to and from work and on all my in-town errands faithfully every day. I do take her for short trips on the freeway and she handles well in the 65-70 mph range. In fact, she prefers the fresh air to the stop and go hustle and bustle of the city, actually ~ especially on hot summer days. There really is nothing better than a joy ride in this beauty.

Included with purchase:

-Black Hard top (which needs new foam sealer on its edges)

-Black Soft top (purchased new from Moss Motors 1 year ago)

-Car cover for resting periods

-Jumper cables (we replaced the two 6V batteries with one 12V battery - the generator was also replaced, so it charges well)

-Independent battery for charging cell phones and such

-Extra gaskets for future use

-Various spare parts

Here is what is NOT CURRENTLY WORKING:

-Speedometer/Odometer (needs to be reattached underneath, although, even when attached is not altogether accurate. I prefer to use a MPH app on my phone while driving. And honestly, she is tiny enough that you can very easily sense how fast you are going.)

-Tachometer (Needs a new, negative ground unit. This is the one function that did not get converted from positive ground to negative ground)

-The Over-Drive is no longer an option

-The manual choke was replaced with an auto choke

-The defrost is not very strong (I carry a rag in the winter to wipe the windshield's interior from steam)

-Both tops (hard and soft) have leaky areas in the rain, mostly around the corners of the windshield

-Exposed wires hang down under the glove box. I leave them that way because they prefer to breathe a little rather than be tightly bundled (Lucas wiring)

Again, these are all items that I choose to live with. The joy of driving the car outweighs the imperfections for me. It will have to be your personal choice as to what you would like to restore.

Please message me with any questions you may have and I will answer as honestly at possible!

Pick-up, shipping plans and all expenses that that entails will be completely SELLER ARRANGED and SELLER PAID for SEPERATELY. This auction is for the car only....not shipping.

I am very hopeful that someone will love this car as much as I have and provide her with her next great adventure!
