Car description

1979 MG MGB
84,010 original miles. Clean Title in my name and ready to be signed over.
The car runs and drives well.
I purchased the car recentlywith 83,896 miles and it now has 84,010 miles (mileage may go up a handful of miles this week). In the past 500 miles, the previous owner installed a new convertible top and a new head assembly/valves from Moss Motors. There is also a new heat exchanger for the heater but the hoses are not connected. A box of spare hoses, etc is included.
Also included are three repair/service manuals and some misc parts.
In addition to the new convertible top, there is aconvertibletop boot cover in great shape.
The previous owner had the suspension lowered 1" to match the pre-1975 MGB height, using a kit from Moss Motors.
When I bought it, the previous owner described it as follows: "She drives like a dream...steering and suspension are tight, no rattles, and is a very reliable car. She neither leaks nor burns oil. In short, she has been well cared for during her 38 years." After putting 100 or so miles on it the past month, I think that is very accurate. The car drives great, is a blast to drive, and I have not experienced any stalling, overheating, or other issues after various length rides. After a month, there are a couple of drops of oil on my garage floor but any leaks are very minor.
I was told it was rust free and original paint when I bought it. That seems to be true too. It does look like a small lower section behind the passenger door has been repainted at some point. A couple of small imperfections in the paint but nothing notable (see pictures). Wheels are in great shape. Besides worn carpet, the inside is in great shape too.
As far as issues, I already mentioned the heater needing hooked up and the worn out carpet (the floor mats cover the worst of it). The only other things I am aware of is acrack in the passenger side lower corner of windshield (see picture) and a crack in the top of thedash. That is it. 100% driveableand reliable as-is.
This car has been well cared for through the years and includes a giant stack of maintenance records, journals, and other paperwork. I have not looked through all of it in detail but a few of the highlights:- Originally sold in the BeverlyHills, CA area and bounced around southern California most of it's life.- Some of the service records go all the way back to the 3K, 6K, and 9K original services- The owner from 2005 to 2015 left a significantly detailed journal and receipts of the work he completed on the car. Seems very well cared for during these 10 years. He had the car in CA, UT, and recently NC.- I bought the car out of NC and it is now in GA
This is a great opportunity to own a MGB in great shape for not a lot of money. It is ready to put the top down and drive as-is. In the short time I have had it, it is amazing how much attention it gets and how fun/unique it is to drive. I would love to keep it but I will be replacing my daily driver by the end of the year and I do not want this car or my new car sitting outside. Plus this is probably not the best car for my bad back...supportive seats is not something these cars are known for. My kids will especially hate to see it go...they really enjoyed cruising around in it the past few weekends.
Let me know if you have any questions. The car is located just south of Atlanta, GA and is sold as-is with no warranty.
Thank you.
