Car description

You are viewing my 1980 MGB Limited Edition. I recently purchased from the third owner who drove the car for the past 18 years. Based on the current condition of the car, I would classify it as a dependable solid daily driver. It has never been performance modified or gone through an amateur restoration to bring it back to life from a neglected ownership. It has some rust at the bottom of the front fender and dog legs at the lower rocker panels.
Overall the body is in fair condition. Much of the paint is original. The underside of the car is solid. Floor pans and substructure have no rust. The rust is typical for the MGB. I have many spare parts including a rust free driver’s side fender. The car comes with the fiberglass hard top as shown. The convertible top will need replacement.
The interior is in fair condition. The driver seat has some tears and shows age from wear. The dash/instrument panel has a few sun stress cracks on the top surface of the dash panel. All gauges and lights are in good working condition, upgraded stereo, windows and heat work as well. All glass is in excellent condition.
The following is a list of the items that were recently updated: new front brake calipers, battery, front spoiler, rear wheel cylinders, new rear brake pads and clutch slavemaster cylinders, new flexible brake lines, modern stereo, clutch disc was replace 2k miles ago, new cylinder head replaced 10K miles ago. The brand new set of 4 tires and LE alloy wheels alone cost over $1500.
There are now 91,000 miles on the odometer. The engine starts right up with no smoke or oil consumption. It idles smoothly with no unusual noises. Oil pressure holds steady and high when fully warmed up. The car runs and drives well. The 4 speed transmission engages smoothly and quietly in all gears. It will need some mechanical repairs such as fix minor exhaust leak, bleed spongy brake system, etc. to pass inspection.
I have tried to include as many pictures to depict the true condition of the car. Please e-mail if you have specific questions. Please keep in mind that the car is 37 years old and because of age, wear and tear, have realistic expectations for a vehicle that been in service all these years.
This car is being offered in a no reserve auction with a very modest starting price. Please email and I will promptly assist you with any questions you may have. Please read the good and bad in the description above. I will make myself available for anyone requesting a physical inspection.
Terms: The winning bidder must confirm bid with a $300 non-refundable deposit within 3 days of close of auction. The balance is due within 10 days. This car is sold as-is where-is. Local buyers are always encouraged to inspect in person before bidding. If you would like to have the vehicle shipped, let me know and I can make arrangements with your vehicle shipping provider after the listing closes. Buyer pays actual shipping costs.
