Glacier Blue with Gray Interior

The MGA design dates back to 1951, hen MG designer Syd Enever created a streamlined body for George Philips' TD Le Mans car. The car initially was to be called the UA-series. As it was so different from the older MG models it was called the MGA, he "first of a new line" to quote the contemporary advertising. There was also a new engine available and was fitted with the BMC corporate B-Series type allowing a lower bonnet line. The MGA convertible had no exterior door handles. It was a body-on-frame design and used the straight-4 "B series" engine from the MG Magnette saloon driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed gearbox. Suspension was independent with coil springs and wishbones at the front and a rigid axle with semi-elliptic springs at the rear. Steering was by rack and pinion. The car was available with either wire-spoke or steel-disc road wheels. Lockheed hydraulic drum brakes were used on all wheels. This MGA was shipped to the US as a LHD North American Export Specification vehicle. In 1987 it was purchased by the previous owner. It was then the car was destined for a concours frame off restoration. The Roadster retained its rust free original body panels. It has gone through a complete restoration both cosmetically and mechanically. It is finished in the original Glacier Blue with the Gray interior along with new gray wool carpet. The MGA is a complete matching numbers sports car. This is truly an exceptional Roadster both mechanically and cosmetically. The British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certified Copy of Factory Record Details of Factory Fitted Equipment lists the following: Wire wheels, djustable Steering Column, nd Heater. The MGA has most all factory correct components including the spare, ack, ack tools, eat belts, hifter, ngine components, nd air cleaners. The restoration was completed to high concours standards and the car presents as it should. The paintwork is outstanding. The glass, hrome, tainless, nd factory wire wheels are excellent. The interior, oor panels, pholstery, ashboard, arpets, nstruments and switches are excellent. The engine compartment and chassis is perfectly detailed.Correct finishes were applied on the engine and all chassis components. While we have been the custodian of this exceptional motorcar regular cold starts as well as lubrication and fluid checks were performed always within the factory tolerances. The British Motor Industry production date was December 12, 957 with a USA Destination. This motorcar is already considered a great classic and this is an outstanding opportunity to acquire a wonderful MGA.This Roadster is in superb shape and beautifully presented for the true connoisseur.
