1968 MGB GT Restored/Recommissioned with tasteful custom touches, ready to go.

Today, am offering up my 1968 MGB GT restoration/recommissioning project that I have been working on tirelessly for the past two years. Unfortunately, ow I must sell it and move on to other projects. This was supposed to be a quick restoration project with the hope of making a few dollars, ut that wasn't the case. I bought the car, s a project,out of California under the impression that it had no rust. I was notactually able to inspect the car prior to purchase (lesson learned) and found it to have rust in the rocker panels, nce I received it. With that said, replaced the rockers first and then began my restoration. I have pictures of the full restoration process for your inspection and I will post a link to them in the description.Body:All bodywork was completed by me personally and I have pictures of the total process.First off, did a complete rocker panel replacement,left and right,with kits from Moss Motors. Floorboards were all sound and required no work. Heat shield/sound deadening installed infootwellsunder carpet to prevent noise and heat from the exhaust system. Bonnet was replaced with an early alloy version for lightness and "coolness". Windshield and door glass is all new. Bumpers are original and have "patina" which I like, ut will need to be re-plated if you wish to own a show car. Trim around side windows is original and will also need replacing also if you wish to show the car.Windshield trim is new and nice, ear hatch glass trim has not been puchased or installed.All door and hatch seals are new as well body chrome. The paint is a PPG code Pepper-grey Metallic which is the paint code for the ShelbyMustangGT500 called "Eleanor"in the movie "Gone In 60 Seconds". The car was completely disassembled for the process and was done to aprofessionalstandard. The paint was done by me personally as well and is a quality BASFurethanebase coat/clear coat system similar to what's used on modern cars and is very durable. I did a color sand and buff to make the paint smooth and flat and it looks great. The only issue with the paint is on the roof, he primer has a defect and has begun to crack under the paint. The paint isintact, ut it telegraphs the defects in soft light.You cannot see the blemishes in the bright sun without really look for them. I have pictures, ut they are hard to photograph. The roof will need a respray eventually and I have plenty of left over paint for that process. I am soover budgeton this car that I can't repair the paint even though it affects the value of the car. The roof can be resprayed for a couple hundred dollars at most. If I receivestrongbids I will consider fixing the paint before delivery.Engine/Drive-train:The engine has been completely rebuilt and is still in its break-in period. It has about 150 miles on it at this time and runs strong. Compression after 100 miles was 180 psi in all cylinders. The engine block is a later 18V model that is bored .030 over with 9:1 compression pistons. Engine internals were all balanced forsmoothness andlongevity. Cylinder head fully rebuilt with hardened valve seats for unleaded fuel. It has a Delta Camshafts KB performance grind and is verystreet-ableand has greattorque. It is a blast to drive and is very smooth on the freeway, ven without an over-drive it just wants to go fast. Transmission is the only thing I didn't touch except for a fluid change and it shifts flawlessly and has no issues. Clutch is new, f course.Rear end has been gone through and resealed and pinion shims replaced, t is quiet and free from the notorious MGB "clunk" that plagues many of the later model rear ends.Suspension/Brakes:Frontsuspension completely rebuilt from the rack and pinion to the control arm bushings. Front shocks are up rated and modified with true oil seals and require no maintenance like the factory ones. Lower control arms are Moss Motors negative camber for better cornering. Front wheel bearings are freshly repacked and properly shimmed. Kingpins are tight and lubed. Rear suspension bushings are all fresh and I added KYB tube shocks to the rear to replace the factory lever ones. Brakes are all fresh and work great. I added stainless braided lines for a solid pedal feel.Electrical:All lights and blinkers work fine, ut thehazardswitch still needsreplacement. The horns are not installed, ut are included. Charging system is great and all gauges function properly. I installed a very nice stereo that has Bluetooth and will pair with your smartphoneautomatically when you enter the vehicle. It plays music from your phone or Pandora Radio or just plain old AM/FM.Interior:The interior is custom and handmade by me personally. I wanted to make it more classy and elegant then the stock MGB interior and I think Iachieved that goal. It's not perfect but I havereceived many complements on it. The dash cover is completely new and all the gauges are in top condition. The headliner is custom as well as the door panels front and rear. The carpet is fairly decent and sourced from great supplier on Ebay. The rear seat is original and has white piping so it doesn't match. I enjoy restoring cars and this one was challenging from the start. Unfortunately, must sell it to recoup some of my investment as I'm not a full time restoration professional, ut a Firefighter by trade. My goal is to build nice cars in my spare time and pass them on to people who appreciate them.
