Competition Orange is the same as Ford's Calypso Coral and is very similar to Pontiac's Carousel Red, Chevy's Hugger Orange and Dodge's Tor Red.Cyclone Spoilers are quite rare with only 1,631 made for 1970. If you are looking for a rare Muscle Car, chances are you will have the only one at the show/barbecue/cruise etc. These were the top of the line Muscle Car offering from Mercury. They packed 375 Horsepower and 450 lbs/ft of torque. Combine this with a plush interior, 4 speed with console shift, special driver oriented gauge package and a Gun-Site Grill and you had a very special car. This Merc has undergone a full rotisserie restoration about 10 years ago. Since that time it has been stored, seeing only a drive or two per year. The body is quite straight and the paint is beautiful. The chrome and bright work are very nice. This one will easily hold its own at your local shows or discerning collections. The doors open and close crisp & easy, just as they should. This is a 10 year old restoration so there are some small imperfections, but only visible on very close inspection.Inside the interior is amazing. Just look at the pics. Mercury did an amazing job with their upholstery as they were an upscale version of Ford. From the woven upholstery to the special formula they used on seat buns, they were a huge step ahead of their competition. Perhaps the most famous of the Cyclone cues is the gauges moving across thedash facing the driver. A host of 'higher end' touches really make this car feel special.Under the hood lives a slightly modified 429 Cobra Jet. These were rated at 375 Horsepower in stock form. While this CJ wears its original cast iron headers & finned aluminum valve covers it is not stock. A larger camshaft has been added for a lopey idle and an aggressive exhaust note. You will not mistake this for the stock cam.The Factory Ram Air Induction is in place and appears all factory, the the air cleaner base is a reproduction unit. The block is not the original numbers matching unit but is a rarer 1971 casting. The 4-Speed is the correctly coded Super Top Loader with Factory Hurst Competition Plus shifter. These transmissions are widely regarded as the toughest of the era. The Tremec TKO's are based off of them. This car came to us with 14" Magnum 500's. We removed them and added new 15x7 front & 15x8 rears and added 245 60 fronts & 275 60 rears to fill out those wheel wells. For Transport we recommend Mike's Discount Auto Transport.
