Car description

1952 Mercury two doorVin #: 52ME39392M
Survivor Hot Rod! Not a rat rod. This classic hot rod has been around for a long time and is ready for a new home. The car is ready to drive and is very reliable.-Original Merc Flathead V-8-Three speed manual transmission (three on the tree)-Professionally done 12 volt conversion that was done recently. Fuse box-Electronic ignition-Red's headers and dual exhaust with Smithy mufflers. Sounds amazing.-Vintage from 1960's Fenton four barrel manifold. Newer Edelbrock four barrel for reliability. It's hidden under a beautiful Edmunds cast aluminum air cleaner made for four barrels. Traditional looks with modern air filtering. -custom pinstriping and original custom flame paint job. Car was pinstriped at the Rumblers Car Show in Brooklyn in 2012.-headliner is in excellent condition.-decked and shaved-door and trunk poppers-key fob-Lakes pipes are still on car but have been disconnected. Easily reattached.-car is lowered 2" in the rear. I have aerostar springs to lower the front. I have not put those on but they will be included with the car.-spare gaskets, weather strip and oil filter are included.-NJ title in my name. Car is currently registered and insured in my name.
I've had this car for quite a few years and it has provided great enjoyment. The original flathead sounds amazing and runs strong. This hot rod can get down the highway at 70 mph no problem. Three on the tree is fun to drive and very unique these days. The rear curbed seat is out of a T-bird. The front seats need upholstery but they are covered with a Mexican blanket. Please see the photos for areas of some minor rust on the body. Please remember this car is very old, not restored and is a survivor hot rod. The frame and underneath of this car are solid. Floors are solid. I installed seat belts which are bolted to the frame. I have the original rear seat, original "flaming teapot" carb, original manifold, original oil bath air cleaner and the original exhaust with crossover pipe. This is all included with the car. Also included are the dummy lamps and rear skirts. I disconnected the Lakes Pipes when I had children as they obviously get hot and can burn little legs. They can be reattached.
Yes you can drive this car anywhere. This is a 68 year old car so some basic understanding of how cars work is good if you want to drive to California or other long distances. My guess is if you are reading this ad you already know all of that. You'll need to check the oil and coolant every once and a while. Just like the old days. The flathead runs strong and they are unstoppable. Four barrel and dual exhaust gives it good power. It's got that rumble that only a flathead has. This Merc gets a lot of attention. People love it at car shows because of it's authentic patina. No radio, no AC, no power steering, of course.
The car is garage kept and is located in Asbury Park, New Jersey. I will ship anywhere on your dime and I can assist in loading etc...
