Car description

This action style action is for a Rare 1963 1/2 mercury super marauder R code 425 hp 427 4 speed S-55 2 door hard top cardinal red with red interior and bucket seats .
The DSO is left blank meaning that this was build for someone special.I wish it could tell me who ? It also has had the 427 emblems on the fenders from day one which mr Dilley that runs the marauder site says none came with the 427 badges. Mercury made fifty six 427 cars including Q code 410 hp and R code 425 hp that year including a couple 4 doors and station wagons and eleven 425 hp and eleven 410 hp 2 door ht fast back S-55 cars i been told . The Marti report states that the factory records burned in 1967 so it is hard to verify these numbers but Marti does state that this is a very rare car and possibly one of three cars with this engine and color combo . Ford made 4800 427 cars that year and are still considered rare .
The car has 61000 miles and hasn't been licensed since 1973 .We i got it 26 years ago and have stored it inside for all those years at $100.00 per month that is almost $30000.00 in storage costs plus i spent over $12000.00 on engine and trans parts and build plus other parts i have bought for the car and that is reflected in price. The engine had blown 2 pistons out the side of the block from missing 2 nd gear and going to 7500 RPM i was old so block was thrown away . I did buy the orignal heads to the car from the the guys brother that i bought the car from the next day.I do have a factory white hood that goes with the car but not pictured.
I then set out to buy as many date code correct parts as i could to do my build to make a pump gas friendly engine . The car was built May 25 th. The standard bore block is dated Feb 28 th,the long cast iron headers are march 1 st and march 16 th and have no damage or repairs, the intake is dated march 16 th and does have a pair of in correct 600 Holley on it that will need the throttle shafts shimmed or just go to holly for correct date code ones for $1200.00.I do have a video of the engine running on my phone and would be happy to send it to you if ebay lets me . We had a little trouble getting to idle right because of this but it did idle about 900-1000 RPM even with its larger cam .
The heads are dated march 16 th and we did put a bigger 2.19 intake valve and hardened exhaust seats and heavy duty new rocker shafts and end shaft braces for the larger Oregon cams solid 306/310-554/579 .
We also put a larger 60s 8 quart deep oil pan with wind age tray and high volume high pressure oil pump.
We also did restrict oil to the rockers and 4 other oil mods to make it live .We did no porting on the heads to keep there value.
We did polish the large bolt factory rods and put new ARP bolts and rebuilt them.
The engine was balanced with the stick flywheel .It has 1967 mercury script pent roof valve covers to run a PVC valve . Original no vent valve covers only allow a road draft tube . You can buy repo original baldies for $200.00 i think or for $300.00 you could chrome these and it would look sweet . My friend has a pair chromed on a 500 cu inch Shelby aluminum engine and they are sweet .
I did just add a picture of the engine that is included . Last picture .
We also did sleeve all 8 holes and left a ledge on bottom for them to set on then milled the deck . This was $1250.00 to do just that . We put factory forged boat pistons in it to be 9.6 to one compression to run pump fuel for those drives to the beach.I don't remember the date code on the bell housing or trans but the trans is a 1962 ? with roller thrust washers and a fine spline input. My trans guy said that was a heavy duty one of the two i had him do . One is for my 64 AFX clone comet i am building and i am trying to get money to build a shop on my 2 1/2 acres and that is why i am trying to sell the super marauder. I am finishing up on a long term rental i have and if it sells i will NOT NEED TO SELL THE SUPER MARAUDER and will keep it .
Located in Vancouver Washington 98686.
I will set aside one 2 hour time to help load the car and additional times will be $100.00 each paid before the car is picked up .Last cat they took 5 times with no calls that they weren't coming after they set the time .I value my time .
For you with an opinion of price i don't need any help with pricing and if own a R code one then you can list it for less if you like .If i had 10 of them i might sell them for less but i only have the one.
In 2011 a1964 turquoise with a bench seat and roll up rear window sold at barrent Jackson for $125000.00.
Also ken in my town has a done black one and he told me he wouldn't sell it for the $160000.00 he has been offered for his .
I would think a red on red bucket seat fast back car might sell for more and the economy sucked then and is booming now which might affect its price. Also the SACH # 666 race car same color and engine combo if you could find it would be worth more than $250000.00 in my opinion. I might turn this car into a clone of that car if i keep it
