Car description

Up for sale is an original paint 1965 Mercury Comet Caliente 2 dr hardtop.This car started out as a true rust free 54k mile survivor, 289, automatic car in springtime yellow with black cloth bench seat interior(still have factory seats available with sale of car).Upgrades to the car include power leather seating, rear fold down seating with console, aftermarket gauges, two layer sound and heat barrier, freshly built heater and vent controls, new carpet, aftermarket steering column with tilt, some weatherstripping has been replaced and have some that needs installing.Have headliner, but needs installing also.

Under the car up front is a Global West tubular suspension with QA1 coilovers, 14" springs at a rate of 250#, and GW sway bar.Out back is a 4 link fabricated suspension with QA1 coilovers, panhard bar setup.With 18x8 wheels up front and 18x9.5 in the rear on Hankook rubber.Car rides very well and handles excellent.Brakes are handles by a wilwood manual master cylinder and 2004 Mustang Cobra disc brakes front and rear with drilled and slotted rotors.

Under the hood power is generated by yes, the factory 289 block but with some major upgrades.The 289 has been bored 30 over, all forged internals by TRW, high volume oil pump, deep pan, camshaft(great vacuum and killer power)have specs if purchased, AFR 185 Renegade aluminum heads with stud mounted 1.7 ratio rollers, victor jr intake, Dougs ceramic long tube headers, MSD dist and coil with box, and controlling all of this is a Holley Sniper EFI fuel injection.New factory tank with fuel return fabbed in and aeroquip hoses front to rear.High output alternator, serpentine drive, aluminum radiator with electric fan.Car never runs over 200, period.

Transmission is still handled by a fresh c4 that cruises very well, nice shifts, and no issues at all.Stock converter, aluminum driveshaft, and a 3" narrowed 9 inch rearend with 31 spline axles and a Strange centersection with 3.70 gears.

Though it still needs a few things, car will go anywhere.It could use a higher quality steering column and overdrive trans would be perfect!
