Car description

This auction is for a 1967 Mercury Comet Caliente Convertible . This is the last year for the Comet, roughly a little over 1500 produced. Similar to Ford Fairlane. Still retains its original 289 V-8 2bbl engine with auto trans . The running gear is in excellentshape especiallywith only 59600 original miles. Car has power steering. manual brakes, power top, dual exhaust which is fairly recent. The power top does work but one piston is sticking in place. Probably just as easy to pull both pins and put the top up and down by hand until it"s fixed properly . The body does need some attention there is some rust through on the bottoms of both rear quarters, a dent on the passenger rear quarter.I do have a used quarter section for the dented side that will be included. Drivers door has rust on both front and rear corners and needs a plate welded where the top hinge bolts to the door. Hinges are fine . Under side is in fair shape . You can see some small repairs that were done to the floors in various spots but nothing horrible. Sub frames look good. Trunk pan does have little rust spots by the tail panel. Interior is all in tact and in fair shape. We have been running the car off an alternative fuel source as we were not sure how clean the tank is. The fuel tank is still mounted in plac, appears to be in good solid shape and no foul smell just didn't want to take the chance. Radial tires are all in good shape and car sports the rare chrome reverse looking style hub caps. If you are handy and can do your own repair work it wouldn't take much to get this car on the road. Good car to clone into a cyclone or use the excellentrunning gear for that mustang or falcon your building. Vintage 289 power plants are getting tough to come by and that alone is worth the asking price of the car. Selling on a dealer bill of sale and proper transfer paper work. If you need a title in your state we are willing to register the car and with that and our transfer forms you will receive a title in your state. It will be an additional $200 dollars should you need this service. Please do not place a bid if you cannot follow through with the sale. If you have under 25 feed back please contact us by phone before you bid. Just wanna make sure everyone is on the same page. We are listing the car at a very reasonable price with no reserve meaning who ever is the high bidder at the end of the auction gets the car. we require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at the end of the auction and balance to be paid within 3 days of auctions end.
